Setting and Atmosphere
Arguably one of the best dining options at either park, the trattoria is a leisurely place to park yourself and family away from the frenetic crowds. Whether you choose one of three themed patios outside or the patio inside, this spacious bistro captures the California-casual mood. The park recently redesigned both interior and exterior patios with plenty of tile, wood, and trellised greenery, whisking you away from downtown Anaheim and positing you in the middle of California wine country.
This is yet another easy place for adults to park for a while and get away from the frantic pace of the amusement park.
House Specialties
Try the pasta your way: your choice of pasta styles including spaghetti, penne, or rotelle with a choice of both cream-based white sauces and tomato-based red sauces.
Other Recommendations
Wine country shrimp on polenta with lemon caper butter sauce and the herb-roasted chicken breast.
Summary
With a revamped menu, the redesigned trattoria is a popular spot for a Mediterranean-style or California-inspired meal, paired with a glass of wine from its extensive cellar. Braised lamb shank and sustainable fish with citrus pesto is delicious. The Wine Country shrimp and fritto misto qualify as full-blown entrees. And to finish: Authentic tiramisu with sweetened Italian mascarpone is an exotic treat for adults among the more kid-friendly sweets that dominate in the rest of the resort.
Wine Country Trattoria appeals more to adults without children, though an improved kids menu and World of Color fixed-price dining packages has made this a more attractive option for families. Note that World of Color lunch and dinner patrons each receive a Preferred Viewing ticket. Also note that the fixed-price World of Color menu is separate from the posted a la carte selections. The soup or salad and dessert sampler included in the viewing package are all excellent, but some of the entrees are disappointing; avoid the filet if you like your beef rare.
For a refreshing late-afternoon break, order a glass of wine and plate of fritto misto at the upstairs patio bar.
