Summary

The District Lounge is an attractive, contemporary bar and seating area, split in half by a walkway connecting The District’s bars. The bar seats 6 along its curving, white stone front. Lights hidden beneath the black marble top point down, creating smoky gray shadows in the stone. Behind the bar is an bronze-colored wall; orange lighting illuminates the bar’s bottles and provides this side of District Lounge with its most prominent color.

A lounge with couches and armchairs sits across the walkway opposite the bar, and although it’s not perfect, it’s one of the more stylish places on the Dream. While the lounge is completely open (and exposed to noise from) guests going between clubs on the walkway, off-white leather couches, champagne-colored metal poles and cocoa-color carpeting provide a visual boundary marking its border. Deeper inside are U-shaped armchairs, covered outside in the same white leather and inside in deep brown leather, arranged in groups of 4 around small tables. A curving chocolate-colored, illuminated wall provides the backdrop.

The best seats for in District Lounge are along this wall, where you can relax in those deep armchairs while watching everyone else shuttle between clubs. This is also the best vantage point to watch the District Lounge’s entertainment, which includes live singers and piano playing later at night. The Lounge is also a good meeting place to start out the evening, especially for groups who haven’t decided which of the Dream’s themed bars to visit.

The District Lounge’s bar menu has a bit of everything, includes draft and bottled beer, cocktails, frozen drinks, scotches, whiskeys and tequila, wine and champagne by the glass and bottle. The District Lounge’s menu has a special martini section, not found at other clubs in The District. A few non-alcoholic drinks and coffee are available.

Comparing the Ships

The District Lounge corresponds to the Venice-themed La Piazza lounge on the Disney Fantasy, and has no relative on the Magic or Wonder. Between The District Lounge and La Piazza, we like The District Lounge more; its recessed seating allows you to enjoy a drink outside the bustle of club-goers walking to their next destination.
