Location

Disney Magic, Deck 3 Aft

Summary

The Promenade Lounge, on Deck 3 Aft, hosts family activities during the day and live music at night. Done in the same Art Deco style as the rest of the Magic, with cherry wood finishes, cream lights and brass accents, Promenade Lounge has the same drink menu as the After Hours bars, including coffee, beer and wine by the glass, spirits and mixed drinks. Free snacks are served starting in the afternoon – mostly chips, salsa and the like.

A set of 16 computers lines one wall of the Lounge, providing 24-hour internet access. Because nothing goes together like alcohol and the Web. Nighttime entertainment is usually provided by a live singing duo, such as a pianist and vocalist, and this is an enjoyable way to spend half an hour after a meal.

Promenade Lounge’s bar is one of the most attractive on the ship. The bar, however, sits adjacent and open to pedestrian traffic from one of the ship’s main inside walkways, making it louder and less relaxing that it could be. (For the live performers, it’s got to be like singing in a bus station. Some glass and wood partitions would work miracles here.) We recommend using Promenade as a meeting place for groups to get a drink before dinner at Lumiére’s or Carioca's; or to listen to the live music with a nightcap.

Comparing The Ships

The Promenade Lounges are only found on the Magic and Wonder, and are almost indistinguishable from one another. Even without a Promenade Lounge, we think the bars on the Fantasy and Dream are better.
