We came in two days early and stayed at Endless Summer - Surfside which I would recommend without hesitation. We have nothing but good things to say about this resort. The only issue was traveling from this resort to any others.

We stayed at Endless Summer Surfside in a two-bedroom suite (440 sq.ft.) for about $50 less than a room at Disney's Pop Century (260 sq.ft.).

The only reason that I would not stay at Surfside again, is that Cabana Bay gives you so much more for about $15 more a night.

Beach Break Cafe The cafeteria-style food courts at the Endless Summer properties are the humblest eateries at Universal’s on-site hotels, but they’re better than most of the franchised family restaurants on nearby International Drive and provide better value to boot. For breakfast, try the blueberry pancakes topped with lemon curd, and healthy blends of fresh-pressed juice. At lunch and dinner, the Pipeline burger with caramelized onions and bacon jam costs less than a basic cheeseburger inside the parks, and between the tofutopped bowls of quinoa and cilantro rice, and the seasoned grilled corn on the cob, there’s plenty to satisfy non-carnivores. There’s ample seating at communal picnic tables, which surround a self-serve Coca-Cola Freestyle dispenser that allows free refills for 2 hours after any soft drink purchase. Our biggest problem with Beach Break Cafe is the speed of service; our food got cold before our entire order could be assembled, and simple requests prompted employees to disappear for long stretches, suggesting that Universal isn’t staffing its budget hotels with the best and brightest.

Sand Bar Located next to the pool, the Sand Bar is a very plain bar with a decent selection of drinks. With the very plain, wooden stools we would recommend grabbing a drink to sip by the pool.

Mobile Check-In

Park tickets are best purchased online in advance either directly through Universal Orlando or from a trusted reseller. However, if you arrive without park tickets, head to the Vacation Planning desk in the hotel lobby.

Table service dining reservations can be made via Universal Orlando's Dining Reservations website or app.

Laundry

Washers and dryers are availabile in laundry facilities at each Universal Orlando hotel. Only credit/debit cards can be used for payment. A small selection of soap, fabric softener, and dryer sheets is sold in vending machines in the laundry rooms.

Shopping

Universal hotels have gifts shops near their lobbies with a decent collection of souvenirs. You will also find basic pharmacy items such as sunscreen, aspirin, allergy and cold medicine, baby diapers and formula, shampoo, and the like.

Universal recommends a third party company, Kid's Nite Out, to provide babysitting services at the resort hotels.
