Setting and Atmosphere

If you ever thought you wanted to dine in a Pan Am Airlines terminal, here’s your chance. The theme behind the restaurant is that this Italian trattoria is housed in a building that is meant to be a 1930s airport. The story is that the airport was abandoned in the town of Disney Springs and taken over by the Sicilians Maria and Enzo. The walls are decorated with painting of airline destinations and the ceiling holds a large metallic globe similar to (but much smaller than) the Unisphere, the NY Worlds Fair globe in Queens (aka home of JFK and LaGuardia airports). A smaller seating area is called the “First Class Lounge” which offers dining in a quieter setting.

House Specialties

The first thing you’ll notice is that more than ¾ of the menu is occupied by adult beverages. The extensive bar menu features aparativi, Prosecco cocktails, half a dozen variations on the negroni, and a variety of seasonal specialty drinks. Also look for “family style” cocktails such as a punch and a sangria that serve 3-5 guests. The wine list is extensive and is heavy on Italian reds. The food selections include primarily classic Italian restaurant dishes such as appetizers of arancini (rice balls), fried calamari, and antipasti. Pasta, steaks and Italian fish preparations make up the bulk of the entrees. Desserts include standards such as cannoli, affogato, and a mascarpone cheesecake.
