The 2015 Car Masters Weekend details have yet to be announced. For a reference, here is the information for the 2014 event. We expect the 2015 weekend to be similar.
If you feel a need for speed behind the wheel or enjoy an old-fashioned vehicular voyage, this annual gathering will really rev your engine. With character meets, classic cars, and automotive personalities, Car Masters Weekend is a celebration of all things auto.
For the Disney-Pixar Cars fans, characters such as Lightning McQueen, Finn McMissle, and Mater will be on hand for photographs and there will be a special Cars and Cars 2 movie marathon at the AMC Downtown Disney 24 theater. If you have any particular questions there is no better person to ask than Pixar filmmaker Jay Ward, who will be available for a Q&A session.
The main event of Car Masters Weekend is the Car Show, where the Downtown Disney West Side promenade is turned into a gallery of more than 100 real life automobiles ranging from classics to muscle cars to modern exotic vehicles. Fans can vote on their favorites, with the winners being announced during a Sunday awards ceremony.
Well known automotive celebrity Chip Foose is usually be on hand for a handful of presentations. He will be sharing his love of cars as well as selling some of his popular merchandise.
There were a few new items for 2014, as well, such as a real, full-size fire truck to promote the upcoming film Planes: Fire and Rescue. The Chevrolet Performance Mobile Tour will also be at Downtown Disney, allowing guests to sit in the recently renovated vehicles from the ride Test Track. Visitors had the chance to see Cars-inspired cars be used for the Junior Ride-Along at the Richard Petty Driving Experience.
There is also entertainment such as DJs and singers enlivening the crowd all weekend. Guests of all ages can also get their faces painted, dine on special food offerings, and enjoy some interactive activities.
If you love cars or are just looking for something a little different on Walt Disney World property, you should put your pedal to the metal to get to Car Master Weekend (Touring Plans does not endorse speeding, reckless driving, or any form of getting fast and/or furious)
