Astro Orbiter at Magic Kingdom Closed Until Further Notice Due to Fire

Disney confirmed that at approximately 9:30am on Sunday, October 9, 2011, a power outage and fire forced the closure of the Astro Orbiter in the Magic Kingdom. There were no injuries and reportedly no guests on the attraction at the time. The surrounding attractions in Tomorrowland were evacuated as a precaution. Reedy Creek Emergency Services responded to the incident.

Astro Orbiter will remain closed until an investigation of the incident is complete. Other attractions in Tomorrowland have resumed normal operation.
