The Magic of Disney Animation at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has recently been updated to include Disney-Pixar’s upcoming movie Brave. Most visitors with no kids tend to skip this little hidden gem, but it’s a fantastic part of the Studios that shouldn’t be missed. Just walking into the building transports you right to the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California. The colors of the walls, the display cases, and even the carpeting are all created to closely resemble the studios out in California.

The Walt Disney Company was founded on animation, and it continues to be the heart and soul of the company. The Magic of Disney Animation keeps this spirit alive with continuously changing out the animated movies being featured. Disney-Pixar’s Brave recently took over the Cars 2 exhibit inside of the Production Gallery, which has previously showcased movies such as Winnie the Pooh.

The Brave exhibit showcases lots of production artwork that is being seen by the public for the first time. One display case is dedicated to character development, showcasing maquettes of Princess Merida and her little three brothers. The other display case, located across the room, is dedicated to location research. As with any production, research is extremely important to making a movie look authentic. This display shows off many pieces of beautiful landscape artwork, as well as photos from the filmmaker’s research trips to Scotland.

Disney-Pixar’s Brave will be released in theaters June 22, 2012. Are you excited for this upcoming animated feature? If so, make sure you check out the new display inside The Magic of Disney Animation!
