Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party – 2012 Schedule

Similar to our recent post about adjusting dates for projected Halloween Parties at the Magic Kingdom, we have made some adjustments for the Christmas Parties based on recently released park hour schedules for November. On days when the Magic Kingdom is set to close at 7:00pm, we assume that a party will be scheduled.

Here is a list of the pending changes to the Crowd Calendar

  • Halloween Party changed from November 1 to November 2
  • Christmas Party changed from November 11 to November 12
  • Christmas Party changed from November 13 to November 15
  • Christmas Party changed from November 28 to November 29
  • The projected dates for the remaining parties remain unchanged (November 6, 7, 9, 16, 25, 27, 30)

We had projected that there would be Christmas Parties early in November as there were in 2011, but the released park hours for November currently do not list a 7:00pm closing early in the month. We suspect this may change. We are therefore still projecting Christmas Parties to be scheduled on November 6 and 7, as well.

  • Our family will be visiting the week of Dec 15. I’m trying to decide what the best 2 or 3 days would be to visit the Magic Kingdom. We’re NOT planning on attending Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas party and we’re not staying on-site. Is it (a) better to go to MK on a day of the party with limited hours (leave by 7pm) or (b) go the following day with longer hours but also contend with larger crowds because of Magic Hours for on-site guests.

  • I was working on my Christmas party touring plan yesterday (a bit early, I know) and it doesn’t list the Party activities (such as Celebrate the Season or Holiday Wishes) for the date we are going. I noticed the activities ARE listed on another date when the party isn’t scheduled. I believe this is based on the projected party dates instead of the actual scheduled dates. Any idea when this will be fixed?

  • Now that the official dates are posted and tickets are on sale for MVMCP, do you still think they are going to add Nov 6 & 7th at some point?

  • MVMCP dates have been posted on http://www.mousesavers.com, they have not been posted yet on the Disney website. According to Mousesavers, tickerts are sale now.

  • Fred, do you know when Wishes will take place during MVMCP? We don’t feel we can drop all that money on the party, but would love to view the fireworks from the beach at Polynesian (with dinner before at Ohana).

  • When should we expect tickets to go on sale for MVMCP? Last year they went on sale on May 1st. Can one assume the same date this year?

  • Hey Guys – I’m going to BC in November, I “splurging” this year and trying the Club Level. I’ve been working with one of the Concierges getting my ADR’s all ready for her to book come May 14 :). I told her the release dates of MVMCP was holding up some of my planning, she informed me that November 12th & 15th were party dates. Hopes this helps anyone planning.

  • November 9 has a Magic Kingdom closing time of 7PM. Hoping that I can assume that MVMCP will be scheduled that night!

  • Thanks Fred! We went the same week last year and they did tweak hours. I’m just trying to get my spreadsheet started.

  • I’m wondering how the Fantasyland expansion is going to affect crowds. I thought MNSSHP was more crowded in 2011 than 2010 without Toon Town. I wonder if they will let more people into the parties. I hope not. We didn’t even go to MVMCP last year because MNSSHP was close to unbearable.

  • Seriously? No parties from the 20th -25th? is it common to not offer the Christmas parties the week of Thanksgiving?

    Reply
    • Yes Kristina, Parties are usually not offered during the busy Thanksgiving week.

  • Trying to plan for the week of 11/25. You all have park hours listed on the crowd calculator, but Disney does not have the schedule up yet. Are these official hours?

    • Yes Linda, they are official hours. Disney’s website will usually update within a few days or so. However, it is important to note that these hours are subject to change (and usually do) as we approach the fall.

  • Fred, it states MVMCP has changed from Nov 13th to 15th but then states the 13th as one of the unchanged dates. Should I assume there might be one on the 13th and 15th?

    • Thanks just1more, no, we do not expect a party on the 13th. I have updated the article.

      • Would there really be parties back to back then on November 15 and 16…a Thursday and Friday?

      • Yes, that has happened in previous years as well. Last year there were parties on December 6 and 7.

  • Interesting you think the 6th may be a MVMCP. I wwas thinking last MNSSHP on Friday 11/2 then first MVMCP on Friday 11/9. The 6th seems a bit quick to turn around all the decoration change overs. Planning to go to the last HP and first CP so looking forward to some real dates! 🙂

    • Yes DisneyDadNY it is a quick turnaround but it matches the pattern that they have used in years past. It should be enough time to make the switch.
