To help celebrate the new Disney movie Frankenweenie, Walt Disney World is offering a special event from September 28 – 30,  leading up to the film’s premiere. The event will take place at Downtown Disney’s Westside and will feature various experiences that were all inspired by the new film.

Events for that weekend include:

  • Special 3D showings of Nightmare Before Christmas (at 4:15 pm and 8 pm) and Alice in Wonderland (at 6:30 pm and 10:30 pm) at AMC Downtown Disney 24. A special extended preview of Frankenweenie will be show during the movies.
  • A New Holland Pet Cemetary photo spot, which will place guests among tombstones of beloved pets, like cats, rabbits, turtles, and dogs. This spot is sponsored by HGTV and will be located between the AMC Downtown Disney 24 and Something Silver. It will be available for guests between 6 pm – 11 pm.
  • Special merchandise will be available for purchase at D-Street.  Also, special treats will be served, such as Franken Fusion Lemonade and a Frankenweenie hot dog.
  • For the first time ever at Walt Disney World, guests will have the opportunity to meet Jack and Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas. This will take place from 6 pm – 11 pm between the AMC Downtown Disney 24 and the Harley Davidson store.

Frankenweenie opens in theaters on Friday, October 5, 2012.

  • Very excited to see some extra events for this well-reviewed Tim Burton new movie. Quick question, has anyone seen the advertisements for the AMC Downtown Disney Monster mashup – a 10:30 PM Nightmare before Christmas showing and midnight Frankenweenie showing combo? Slightly different timing than what is listed above. Do you imagine this is a separate event?

  • I will be there and would love to meet some one. However, I would definately prefer a different type of beverage.
