In Case You Missed It!

It’s time to head to the theaters again! Today, Captain America: The Winter Soldier is released! Who else is excited to continue this awesome saga?

In other news…I’ve got the fun goodies that you missed this week! Here’s a look. Let me know what your favorite is!

In Case You Missed It – Disney News and Rumors

Have you thought about seeing Captain America: The Winter Soldier (it’s supposed to be really good!), but maybe know nothing about the prior Captain America movie? (Or maybe even the other subsequent Marvel movies that followed?) Here’s a great Captain America 101 that will help you out and tell you all you need to know to lead into this sequel. (Otherwise, it’s a good refresher for those of you headed to the theater this weekend.)

To gear up for Captain America, ABC recently aired a special called, “Marvel Studios: Assembling A Universe.” It’s now available online to view for those who may have missed it the first time, and it is a fascinating exploration of the Marvel universe, as well as what’s to come for the future. (Hello, Guardians and Avengers 2!)

Do you tend to just hit the major attractions at Walt Disney World and then skip the rest? Here’s a listing of some of the attractions that you may just be missing and why you shouldn’t.

Every once in a while, you’re in the parks and you see a little girl or boy dressed to the nines in a costume that is incredibly elaborate. It’s so cool to see and some of these costumes are so very creative. Here is a pictorial story of one of these little girls (Haylie) and her fun-filled journeys visiting the parks. Seriously. These costumes are ridiculously awesome!

With spring currently in full bloom, you’re probably looking for a fun new look? Here’s some inspiration based off our favorite mouse muse, Minnie Mouse.

The juggernaut of Frozen has officially become the highest grossing animated movie of all time, out-doing Toy Story 3, which previously held that honor. How crazy is that?

Speaking of Disney movies…there are a few that are just not as popular as some others, but they are just as stellar. Here’s a look at the 8 movies that are most overlooked. My favorite on the list is Hercules. Such a great and fun film that hardly ever gets play! Though 101 Dalmatians was a very, very close second.

Tinker Bell and her fairy friends have become this huge franchise hit of their own. Matter of fact, another direct to DVD release just recently hit store shelves on April 1. (The movie is called The Pirate Fairy.) Have you ever wondered how this series came to fruition? The Hollywood Reporter shares the details.

Ever wonder how the lightsaber in Star Wars came to fruition? In this video featurette, called “The Birth of the Lightsaber,” George Lucas, Mark Hamill, and sound designer Ben Burtt discuss the creation and implementation of this now, infamous weapon, was invented. (And how it got the famous whooshing sound.) I especially enjoyed some of the behind the scenes footage included.

What did we miss? Send your idea attached to a Captain America shirt (what else are you going to wear to the theater?) and send both to blog@touringplans.com with the words “In Case You Missed It” in the subject line.
