In Case You Missed It!

Happy Birthday, Walt Disney World! This week, the entire resort celebrated its 43rd birthday! Have you ever been at a Disney Park on its birthday? It’s a fun atmosphere!

This week, I bring you lots of great fun, including a great feature story about Auntie Kau’i at Disney’s Polynesian, an article detailing the creation of some of the houses at Halloween Horror Nights, and so very much more!

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

To celebrate Walt Disney World’s birthday this week, Time marvels over how much the resort has grown in size.

Well, the news has been rapidly flying this week, thanks to a Puerto Rican newspaper called Metro, that the commonwealth would like to have a full-blown presence in World Showcase. (The article has been translated.) I will say that I noticed that Puerto Rico had a fantastic exhibit set up for this year, much more elaborate than other those for other countries.

If you’ve visited Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, you’ll likely have seen or met Auntie Kau’i. Read more about her story and what makes her so special and how she makes vacations memorable.

Oh my god! Seeing this cake almost makes me want to get married again just so I can have it at my wedding! See the unique new technology Disney rolled out at its Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons Bridal Showcase this past week.

Have you heard? The new Canadian Lumberjack Show will be brought to live by the people who bring to life the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show. The group announced this on Facebook (in a post that has since been removed), but the show should debut this weekend on October 5.

Could Luigi’s Flying Tires be a thing of the past? According to this article, it’s entirely possible that the attraction will be closed in January to make way for a less cumbersome attraction. They just can’t get this type of ride right. Bummer.

Um…ok….so a woman is currently suing Disney claiming that they stole her life in the creation of Frozen. She is claiming that Disney stole details from her autobiography. What do you think?

Are you a fan of Aladdin? Then you don’t want to miss this video of Lea Salonga performing “A Whole New World” recently with Il Divo.

Have you seen the teaser trailer for the upcoming Pixar movie Inside Out? I love all the color and think it looks to be a fantastic story. (Seriously…this reminds me of the old Fox show Herman’s Head. I feel like the only person who remembers this show…though I probably shouldn’t have been watching it…I was eight at the time it debuted…yikes…thank god this movie will be a much more family friendly version of this concept…this is clearly what I should have been watching when I was eight…)

Did you know that Mickey Mouse’s birthday used to be in October? Wait…what?

If you are going to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Florida, you should make sure you read this article, which talks in detail about the creation of three of the event’s houses: Alien vs. Predator, The Walking Dead, and Halloween.
