Who turned off the heater outside? I know that the cold weather is just getting started, but I am already tired of it. (I moved south for a reason!) Stupid polar vortex.

Anyway…moving on to other things, this week, I was delighted to find articles to share with you that include a look at Disney’s fourth quarter earnings, what you should consider purchasing for your loved ones for Christmas from Orlando, and more!

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

Veterans Day was this week, and along with a great article posted here, I also came across another fantastic article discussing the flag retreat at Disneyland. Thank you to all those who serve in the U.S. military and if you are a Disney fan and seen (or if possible, taken part in) the flag ceremony, I hope you have the chance to it soon.

For years, both Walt Disney World and Disneyland have had no-fly rules in effect. They were originally enacted courtesy of 9/11. But are they necessary currently? The L.A. Times takes a look at this question.

Ah, River Country. I never got to experience you. But thanks to this great article, I feel like I was there! Did you ever get to go to River Country? What are some of your favorite memories?

What should Walt Disney World do with the 350 acres of wetlands they recently purchase? And honestly, what does this purchase actually mean? Those are just some of the questions that we and the Orlando Business Journal is asking.

Disney recently released their Fourth Quarter earnings for 2014. Forbes shares what major things helped to cause yet another quarter of earnings growth.

Is it too much? Disney has renamed the “Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade” the “Disney Parks Frozen Christmas Celebration.” What do you think about the renaming of this popular parade? Personally, I fall into the category of, Really? This seems unnecessary!

Speaking of Christmas, have you started your shopping yet? U.S.A. Today shares some of their favorite merchandise and unique finds from Orlando and many items can be found courtesy of Disney and Universal. I know that I’m looking at getting some Disney merchandise for my family this holiday season.

Big Hero 6 landed at the top of the box office. Did you get to see the movie? What did you think of it?

Did you know that Fantasia opened this week 74 years ago? Crazy to think! Do you have a favorite part of the movie?

What did we miss? Attach your ideas to this sweet Big Hero 6 Baymax shirt (which let’s be honest, I know it says for men, but I would totally rock this) and send them to blog@touringplans.com with the words “In Case You Missed It” in the subject line.

I’m glad they renamed the Christmas parade. I was unsure if Anna and Elsa were going to be part of it until then. I mean, Disney is really hiding those characters these days.

I think it’s fine that they renamed it this year. I’m sure it is not a permanent change. Frozen was released just a year ago this month and it’s still probably the most popular Disney movie right now. We’ll see if they go back to the traditional name next year (my guess is they will).
