Though the rest of the country is suffering through a deep freeze, spring is in the air in Orlando, and the 2015 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival is in full bloom. We stopped by Epcot on the anticipated annual event’s opening day (March 4, 2015) to bring you this photo tour of the flora and food of the this fan-favorite festival.

2015 Epcot Flower and Garden Topiaries and Displays

Here’s a small sampling of the dozens of topiaries and floral displays that currently fill Epcot’s Future World and World Showcase:

These butterflies on the back side of Spaceship Earth make a popular photo op.

The colorful Gardener’s Palette display is back again.

This display of test plants can be found near the Odyssey between Mexico and Test Track.

Lion King topiaries are located between the African Outpost and Germany.

Germany’s model railroad has also been decorated for the festival.

This pizzeria garden features terra cotta pots.

Captain Hook and the Crocodile are facing off across from the Rose and Crown.

The Urban Farm Eats area demonstrates how food (even fish) can be grown in city environments.

Colorful flowerbeds liven up the areas under the monorail track.

Frozen Topiary

And finally, the topiaries you’ve all been waiting for…Frozen’s Anna and Elsa:

Butterfly Garden

We wouldn’t want to forget everyone’s favorite oversized terrarium, the butterfly garden near Future World’s Coke-sponsored Club Cool.

The Tinker Bell theming and fanciful fairy houses are gone, but the more open arrangement makes for much better looks at the butterflies themselves.

2015 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival Food Kiosks

In recent years, the food component of the Flower and Garden Festival has gradually expanded to the point that it is virtually a mini-Food and Wine Festival — which isn’t a bad thing if you love snacking around the world. The food kiosks for Flower and Garden are far less numerous, and the menus’ flavors are lighter (as befitting the warmer springtime weather) with an improved portion size vs. price ratio.

Here’s a complete look at the festival food kiosk menus, as you’ll encounter them traveling clockwise around World Showcase Lagoon:

Mexico’s food kiosk.
Kung Fu Punch and Kung Pao Chicken Bun from China’s food kiosk.

Watermelon salad from the Florida kiosk.
The American Adventure now has a meat smoker on the premises, serving pulled pork, sausage, and bacon.
Frushi has returned to Japan!
Ceviche and Polar Beer from the new Latin American kiosk.
Alcoholic slush and duck with potatoes from France.

2105 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival Seminar Schedule and Passport

Weekday visitors may be disappointed to discover that the Festival Center in the former Wonders of Life pavilion is only open Friday through Sunday.

I struggled trying to find the weekend seminar schedule on Disney’s website, so here is a printed copy that was provided to cast members:

While there are no seminars scheduled during the rest of the week, you can still pick up this Festival passport from various locations around the park.

2015 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival Merchandise

As always, the festival offers an array of branded merchandise and other money-spending opportunities.

The Minnie shirt on their right seems to be popular already.

And now for something completely different…

Finally, presented without comment: a video of the log rolling competition that is the climax of the updated Canadian Lumberjacks show. You can debate in the comments whether or not this is a worthy successor to Off Kilter…

Looking forward to the Festival in May! As for the log rolling competition, please, please, please bring back Off Kilter. When a 1 minute 7 second video can summarize the highlight of a show and give me no desire to see it in person, something is wrong with the entertainment value of the act. Yes, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and apparently Disney and I disagree on this one.

Love the post! As for the Lumberjacks? Their act makes me hate trees. Bring back Off Kilter!

There’s nothing bad about the Lumberjack show (at least since they got rid of the chainsaws that could be heard across the lagoon), it’s awful that nothing can be added to WDW without losing something else. Couldn’t they have kept Off Kilter and added the Lumberjack show?

BTW, is there anything that goes with that Aquaponics 101 display? It seems like the kind of thing that should have a presentation to explain how to set one up.
I really wish they would include Living with the Land’s aquaponics system in the Behind the Seeds tour, but it’s on the wrong side of the canal to see it up close.

Any idea what the pour sizes are for beers this year? Small, I’m guessing….
