Universal Crowd Calendar Report – March 8 to 14, 2015

Last week, like the week before, Universal Orlando crowds came in lower than expected but not significantly so. Each day the wait times across the resort were 8 to 12 minutes lower than predicted, on average. Five out of seven days last week our crowd calendar correctly predicted the park crowd levels within one index level.

Both parks reached a level ‘5’ on our scale Sunday. Average wait times were 19 minutes at Revenge of the Mummy (predicted 18) and 26 at Dragon Challenge (predicted 32).

Wait times were slightly higher on Monday at both parks with averages like 42 minutes at Rip Ride Rockit (predicted 39) and 67 minutes at The Incredible Hulk Coaster (a sure sign than Spring Break-ers have arrived).

Tuesday saw another day of ‘6’s at both parks. Wait times were similar at all major attractions with the highest waits at thrill rides like Dragon Challenge and Revenge of the Mummy.

Wednesday`s crowds faded downward slightly, partially due to a late afternoon rain shower. We saw wait times at Men in Black that averaged 25 minutes while Forbidden Journey averaged 67 minutes.

Level ‘5’ across the board on Thursday with no attraction averaging a posted time higher than 45 minutes except for Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem (64 minutes).

Friday brought the biggest surprise of the week. Normally a busy day of the week, last Friday brought average wait times that measured below the middle point in our scale.

On Saturday our predictions bounced back with correct figures at both parks. Averages were 18 minutes at The Simpson`s Ride and 44 at Transformers.
