In Case You Missed It!

No one guessed my favorite movie line from last week…Here’s more of it, so you all can get it in context.  “I’m Woody! Howdy. Howdy. Howdy!” Did you guess it was the shark wearing Woody’s hat in Toy Story?  I get a chuckle from that every time.

It’s time for this week’s fun, which includes a neat video of how Maximus from Tangled will be portrayed in the musical on Disney Cruise Line, a look at what Jurassic Park could have been at Islands of Adventure, and much more!

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

This is the can’t miss article this week: “How Robert Iger’s Fearless Dealmaking Transformed Disney.” It’s certainly an interesting and introspective piece. This is such a fantastic read. What are your thoughts on it?

CNN shared their story of spending 24 Hours in Disneyland and asked the question of “Why?”

What is your thoughts on the latest Walt Disney World scandal? Should characters be able to divulge which characters they portray in the media or should they keep quiet?

This use of puppetry is pretty fantastic! See how Disney is going to bring Maximus from Tangled to life on the Disney Cruise Line’s upcoming live production of Tangled The Musical.

This week was Donald Duck’s anniversary of first appearing in a Disney film. Here are some great facts about the infamous duck.

Can I get engaged again? Holy cow! Look at these gorgeous engagement rings!

This week, we got to see the teaser trailer for Zootopia, which comes out in March 2016. Also, make sure you read USA Today’s write up about the movie too. What are your thoughts of the upcoming Walt Disney Animation Studios flick? Does this one appeal to you?

Yikes…Tomorrowland could be Disney’s biggest flop since The Lone Ranger. That’s not good. It was a hard sell and and abstract concept for many casual theater-goers to understand from the trailer.  And with the massive summer blockbusters that have come out within the past 30 days…well, it’s sort of easy to understand.

If you love Jurassic Park, then you’ll want to take a look at this –  it’s what could have been with the Jurassic Park attraction at Islands of Adventure.

Freddy or Jason…which one are you rooting for at this year’s Halloween Horror Nights?

I do know! It’s for flex space while will be utilized for things like cheerleading competitions and other events. This type of stuff typically takes place at Indiana Jones and with the rumored Star Wars Land possibly taking up this area, Disney is preparing.

I liked the CNN piece about the 24 hour celebration. We were so tempted to go but with a 9 year old in the mix it just didn’t seem feasible.

I think there must be a compromise that can be reached with the Character performers and Disney. They should at least be able to claim they are Character Performers even if they don’t say exactly which ones online.

I’m really torqued about Tomorrowland not being a success. I’m not sure how they could have turned it into a franchise but I LOVED this movie. I’ve seen it twice in theaters (including at the Downtown Disney AMC theater) and I’m hoping to see it at least one more time if I can. It really strikes a chord with me. The only consolation is that the Blu Ray will probably come out sooner rather than later. See? Silver Lining. Optimism. WOOT! 🙂

“Tomorrowland” is a pretty entertaining and creative film…much more than “Lone Ranger”, but the environmental fear-mongering propaganda probably rubbed many people the wrong way.
