ICYMIHoly cow! There is a ton of stuff that came out this week! It’s been one crazy time, that’s for sure, as we have great stories about sharks, dinosaurs, and more! It’s like a cornucopia of awesome. (Ok…I could do without the dinosaurs…) Let’s get to it!

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

I came across this very interesting article this week, “What would Walt do? Universal and Disney battle to be US’s best theme park.” It takes an in-depth look at the throw down that’s currently taking place between Disney and Universal. Oh and you may recognize that our very own Seth Kubersky happens to be quoted in it.

Disney movie fans will want to make sure to attend this year’s D23 event, because there will be multiple presentations showcasing the upcoming films from Marvel, Pixar, Disney, and Lucasfilm. These will certainly be panels to watch!

Ant-Man became the 12th straight Marvel movie to reach number 1 this past weekend. Have you seen it yet? Are you going to?

Speaking of impressive streaks, Inside Out is the 8th Pixar film to reach 500 million at the box office.

Get ready for more live action remakes. We’ll see a Sword in the Stone re-do and a film about The Genie from Aladdin.

Wow! This new trailer for The Good Dinosaur is visually stunning. I’m curious to see how well this one does, particularly with the popularity of another recent dinosaur-related film which has been doing so well this year. Is this the the year of the resurgence of the dinosaur?

Speaking of that other dinosaur movie…Jurassic World…it’s now the number 3 highest grossing movie of all time, bumping off The Avengers this week. Oh and not surprising to find out, due to that news, but there will indeed be a sequel to Jurassic World.

Universal’s second quarter revenue soared once again this quarter. Find out all the details from Comcast’s earnings info released this week.

Want to get questions answered by Universal Orlando Resort while you’re visiting? Well, if it’s from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, their team of social media specialists will be on hand to do just that in the Social Media Engagement Center.

Which Universal restaurant topped USA Today’s list for Best Amusement Park Restaurant? I’ve been there and it is pretty darn awesome.

Could a third gate for Universal be themed around video games? The latest rumors seem to suggest it may be.
