How did the Universal Crowd Calendar do last week?

Last week,┬áthe Universal Crowd Calendar correctly predicted the crowd levels at each Universal park every day within one index level except for Thursday at Islands of Adventure when that park hit a level ’10’ on our scale. Crowds were busiest Monday through Friday as predicted.

Sunday’s average wait times were within a few minutes of what the Universal Crowd Calendar predicted at both parks. Disaster! averaged 19 minutes (predicted 14), Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit averaged 67 (51) while The Incredible Hulk Coaster averaged 43 minutes (predicted 37) and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey averaged 47 minutes (42).

Monday’s wait times were higher than Sunday’s, continuing a trend we’ve seen all summer where weekday crowds are a little busier than weekends. For example, Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit averaged 82 minutes.

Tuesday’s crowds were similar to Monday’s with a 70 minute average at Rip Ride Rockit. Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem averaged a whopping 121 minutes on Tuesday, the highest we’ve seen all summer.

Wednesday’s crowd level ’10’ at Islands of Adventure was driven by average wait times like 45 minutes at Doctor Doom’s Fearfall, 49 at Dragon Challenge and 61 at The Incredible Hulk Coaster.

Islands of Adventure hit a level ’10’ again on Thursday with average wait times like 66 minutes at The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man, 52 minutes at Cat-in-the-Hat and 56 minutes at Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey.

Friday’s crowd levels were a little lower than we had seen since Sunday although wait times were still in the highest ranges you’ll see during the year. Revenge of the Mummy averaged 26 minutes and Shrek 4-D averaged 48 minutes.
