How Did The Universal Crowd Calendar Do Last Week?

Last week, crowds on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday were two points higher than the Universal Crowd Calendar predicted while crowds on the other four days were as predicted. Crowds tended to be busier than what we saw during the same week in previous years however not by much and only at Universal Studios. Islands of Adventure wait times were as predicted most of the week. Wait times were still below average for the year all week with no resort-wide crowd reaching a level above ‘5’ on our scale.

Islands of Adventure had low averages at all attractions on Sunday while Universal Studios saw some higher than expected wait times like 37 minutes at The Simpsons Ride and 29 minutes at Transformers: The Ride-3D.

Another crowd level ‘6’ for Universal Studios on Monday which means average wait times like 29 minutes at Men in Black and 20 minutes at Shrek 4-D.

Tuesday’s crowd continued the pattern we saw on Sunday and Monday with Universal Studios coming in a couple points higher than Islands of Adventure. Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem had the highest average wait time at 51 minutes.

The magic number was ‘2’ on Wednesday with both parks hitting that crowd level, as predicted. Wait times at Islands of Adventure stayed low all week including averages like the 10 minutes at Dragon Challenge and 18 at Forbidden Journey we saw on Wednesday.

Universal Studios jumped back up to the middle point on our scale on Thursday while waits stayed low at Islands of Adventure.

The difference in wait times between Universal’s two parks were significant most of the week but the difference was no greater than what we saw on Friday. Islands of Adventure was nearly empty while wait times at Universal Studios stayed at double digits all day.

Weekend crowds were low as well last week with neither park reaching higher than a level ‘4’ on Saturday.

November 1 to 6, 2015

Halloween Horror nights have come to an end for 2015 and we enter the pre-Thanksgiving season at Universal Orlando. Crowds should be low to moderate for most of early November.
