How Did The Universal Crowd Calendar Do Last Week?

Thanksgiving week crowds were up about a point on average last week although most attractions had wait times within a few minutes of what the Universal Crowd Calendar predicted all week. No crowds at Universal’s parks were extreme except for perhaps the ‘9’s we saw at Universal Studios on Monday and Tuesday.

Sunday’s wait times were as predicted at Universal Studios while Islands of Adventure saw some lower than expected waits like 18 minutes at Dragon Challenge (predicted 25) and 10 at Jurassic Park River Adventure (predicted 25). Sunday was the only day last week with wait times lower than predicted.

Monday brought the first of two days of crowd level ‘9’s at Universal Studios, the highest crowd level that park has seen since the summer. Islands of Adventure was significantly less crowded than its sister park.

Another level ‘9’ for Universal Studios on Tuesday with wait time averages like 42 minutes at Men In Black and 72 at Rip Ride Rockit. Again, Islands of Adventure was the better choice with wait times a couple points lower than Universal Studios.

Wednesday’s crowd levels were the closest to predicted that we saw last week. Islands of Adventure saw average wait times like 45 minutes at The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man (predicted 26) and 29 at Jurassic Park (predicted 36).

Happy Thanksgiving Day! As is typical, the holiday itself is the least crowded day of the week at Universal Parks as many guests celebrate at home.

Saturday’s crowd levels were not the biggest of the week, far from it. Islands of Adventure wait times were within a few minutes of predicted averages while Universal Studios saw Revenge of the Mummy average 29 minutes (predicted 21) and Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit average 44 (39).

November 29 to December 5, 2015

Post-Thanksgiving crowds at Universal Orlando can be some of the most pleasant of the year. Temperatures have moderated and crowds have as well, making early December one of our favorite times of year.
