How did the Disneyland Crowd Calendar do last week?

Last week, crowds at the Disneyland Parks followed the pattern predicted by the Disneyland Crowd Calendar but Sunday-Monday was a little less busy than expected and Tuesday through Saturday was a little busier. Crowds levels were higher at Disneyland than at Disney California Adventure most of the week.

Disney California Adventure saw wait times lower than predicted by the Disneyland Crowd Calendar on Sunday, including an average posted time of 42 minutes at Soarin’ Over California (predicted 45). Although, Radiator Springs Racers wait times were high as usual (76 minute average, as predicted).

Monday was a different story with very low wait times at Disney California Adventure. We saw averages like 8 minutes at California Screamin’ and 9 minutes at Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree.

More low to moderate waits at both parks on Tuesday although Disneyland was a couple points higher than the ‘3’ predicted. Alice in Wonderland averaged 30 minutes as predicted while Star Tours averaged 35 minutes (predicted 24).

Both parks managed wait times that pushed the crowd levels up to a ‘5’ on Wednesday but the wait times were still quite manageable. Other than Tower of Terror (36 minutes, predicted 23) the wait times were only a few minutes higher than the predicted averages.

Thursday was another good day for light crowds at both parks even though Disneyland Park was two points higher than predicted. The only major surprises at that park were Space Mountain (59 minutes, predicted 31) and Pirates of the Caribbean (25, predicted 15). Many other attractions had averages lower than predicted.

Resort-wide the crowd level was two points higher than predicted but each park was only one level higher which means that average wait times were only up slightly. Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters averaged 24 minutes (predicted 17) while Dumbo averaged 26 (predicted 25).

Saturday was a similar story with Disney California Adventure matching the predicted crowd level and Disneyland coming within one but resort-wide the crowd level was two points higher. A ’10’ at Disneyland means wait time averages like 42 minutes at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and 57 minutes at Indiana Jones Adventure.

December 6 to 12, 2015, 2015

Early December is one our favorite times of the year to visit Disneyland Resort. Temperatures are cool and the parks are manageable with low wait times during the week.
