How Crowded Was Disneyland Resort Last Week?

Disneyland crowds hit the highest level on our scale four out of seven days last week. Although still extremely busy, the parks were a little less crowded on Sunday and Saturday while during the week wait times were extreme in both parks. Disney California Adventure was notably less crowded than Disneyland Park most days.

Sunday started out with solid crowd level ‘9’s at both parks. Four of Disneyland Park’s major attractions had average wait time greater than 50 minutes. Indiana Jones Adventure averaged 51 minutes, Star Tours 59, Splash Mountain 61 and Space Mountain averaged 80 minutes.

By Monday the Spring Break crowds really filled the parks. Nearly every attraction hit the top level on our scale, a feat that we haven’t seen since Christmas break. That means average wait times like 36 minutes at Alice in Wonderland, 60 at Indiana Jones Adventure and 44 at Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage.

On Tuesday we saw Disney California Adventure dip one level lower thanks to average wait times like 23 minutes at Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree and 27 minutes at Monsters Inc., Mike & Sully To The Rescue. At Disneyland Park the crowd level hit a level ’10’ where it would remain for the rest of the week.

Wednesday’s crowds looked similar to what we saw on Tuesday and within a few minutes of what we predicted at each attraction. Indiana Jones Adventure averaged 59 minutes (predicted 55), Mickey’s House 38 minutes (predicted 39) and Peter Pan’s Flight averaged 46 minutes (predicted 51).

Thursday’s wait times continued the pattern that began on Tuesday, a ’10’ at Disneyland and a ‘9’ at Disney California Adventure. The highest average wait times were 77 minutes at Splash Mountain and 93 minutes at Radiator Springs Racers.

Disneyland stayed at the highest crowd level on our scale Friday but we saw the first signs of lessening crowds at Disney California Adventure. California Screamin’ averaged a 23 minute wait and Toy Story Midway Mania averaged 39 minutes while the Matterhorn Bobsleds averaged 61 and Space Mountain averaged 76 minutes.

Saturday was the only day of last week where Deluxe Annual Passholders were blocked out. Wait times at Disney California Adventure hit averages several minutes lower on Saturday, like 40 minutes at Toy Story Midway Mania and 12 minutes at California Screamin’.
