Back in February, I let you all know that this year’s Epcot Food and Wine Festival would be running for a grand total of 62 days, (up from 53 days), from September 14 through November 14. Today, we have a glimpse of a few of the fun things you can expect to experience during this year’s festival.

For the second year in a row, the Marketplace Kiosks will extend into Future World. Also new for this year will be hard soda floats at the Desserts & Champagne marketplace. In addition, a savory vegan dish will debut at the Greece marketplace, and the popular Farm Fresh marketplace will showcase Florida’s flavors with new savory dishes.

The Eat to the Beat concert series will be returning with new artists, including Wang Chung. The “Everybody Have Fun Tonight!” band will open the Eat to the Beat concert series Sept. 14-15. More new acts will join the concert series lineup, including Delta Rae and Toad The Wet Sprocket and popular acts, including Wilson Phillips, Boyz II Men and Jeffrey Osbourne, will return to the America Gardens Theatre stage this fall.

Celebrity chefs including Cat Cora, Norman Van Aken, Masaharu Morimoto, Elizabeth Falkner, Buddy Valastro and Jamie Deen will be on hand for seminars.

New for this year’s event will be the “Mix It, Make It, Celebrate It!” hands-on workshops which will take place at the Festival Center. These workshops will offer guests a chance to learn a variety of culinary skills from chefs, bakers, mixologists and other pros.

Also returning for this year will be the fun Ratatoullie family scavenger hunt.

At the Festival Center highlights will include the complimentary Back to Basics weekend series featuring tips and tricks from the pros, book and bottle signings and The Chocolate Experience: From Bean to the Bar, hosted by Ghirardelli and offering guest samples.

The Chase Lounge will return for Chase debit and credit card members where they will find complimentary non-alcoholic refreshments, a charging station and comfortable seating for a relaxing break at the Chase Lounge at American Adventure.

In addition, premium events will return including the Rockin’ Burger Block Party and re-imagined Party for the Senses events that will showcase creative bites from eminent chefs and beverage experts plus new live entertainment. There will also be new resort premium events to book that will include a Grand Floridian brunch with a twist and a new cooking school experience. More details about premium events will be announced this summer.

It’s looking like it’s going to be another exciting year of the Epcot Food and Wine Festival! Stay tuned for more details!

Since F&W is opening 11 days earlier than last year, I wonder if the opening day to begin making reservations will be before July 30/31st as it has been the last two years? We want to try Party for the Senses this year so I’ll be calling ASAP.
