Mobile Ordering Service Now Available for Guests Using Disney Dining Plan

I have been a huge fan of the Mobile Ordering Service that Walt Disney World rolled out in the middle of last year. For those who don’t know what it is, Guests open the My Disney Experience app and can easily order meals and snacks, pay in advance, and skip the lines at over 20 quick-service locations throughout the theme parks and Disney Springs.

One of the negative aspects, though, was that Guests who were on the Disney Dining Plan could not take advantage of this service because the app didn’t offer Dining Plan credits as a payment option. Now, that has changed: Guests wishing to use their Disney Dining Plan snack and meal credits can do so via the Mobile Order option. All three Disney Dining Plans are accepted: the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan, the Disney Dining Plan, and the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan.

To use Mobile Ordering, Guests tap the “Order Food” button under “My Plans” in the app. Those who have an active Disney Dining Plan in their My Disney Experience profile will see that appear automatically as a payment option when placing an order.

Take a closer look at how this process works:

For those who are do not have the Disney Dining Plan, the Mobile Ordering option still accepts credit cards. Do keep in mind that Disney gift cards and discounts are still not accepted forms of payment.

It will be interesting to see how this affects the length of the lines at the Mobile Order pickup windows.

My guess is that now lines for Mobile Order pickup will be very long indeed…

Oh, if only they’d introduce this at Earl of Sandwich….

I’ll definitely be trying this out next week, since DDP is now accepted. Also curious about how the wait will be comparable to walk up lines over the next month.
