I’ve got the Disney blues! With the never ending colder temps and the fact that my summer vacation is just around the corner, it is making me want to be in the parks so badly! What about you? Are you feeling the same itch?

This week, we take a look at some changes within Disney, a glimpse at what The Haunted Mansion could have been, and more.

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

This is a very interesting look at Bob Iger’s life. If you’re even remotely curious, you’ll want to read this article.

Disney will be required to make an offer to purchase all of Sky’s shares if 21st Century Fox’s bid is not approved prior to completion of Disney’s acquisition of Fox assets.

Did you know that the Haunted Mansion was originally going to be The Museum of the Weird. Take a look at some of the unique concept art that was created for the potential project. I think some of it, even though the museum itself never came to fruition, will look familiar.

There’s been another major change within the Disney Travel company. (There seem to be several of these lately.) Jeff Vahle has officially been named as president of Disney Signature Experiences. This includes Disney Cruise Line, Disney Vacation Club, Adventures by Disney and Aulani, a Disney Resort in Hawaii.

This quarter’s injury report for the theme parks is now out.

This one hits close to home for me. This week, we lost Henri Landwirth from Give Kids the World. I am a big supporter of Give Kids the World, as each and every year I help to raise money for this wonderful charity located in Kissimmee, FL. If you haven’t heard of the facility, I strongly suggest you learn a little bit about it. I have personally visited and it truly is a wonderful place for kids who need a little magic in their lives.

I feel like I’m stepping on Derek’s toes, but AV Club shared an article about all the TV shows that have filmed episodes inside a Disney theme park and why they aren’t as prevalent as they maybe once were.

Universal’s Fast & Furious – Supercharged is now in technical rehearsal! Learn a bit more about what you will be able to experience when riding this new attraction.

I’m so sorry to hear that Henri Landwirth died. I’m from Germany and I came across his story a few years ago, while reading a trip report of a make a wish-kid. I bought his book and was amazed of what he did. I contacted Give kids the world and asked them, if they would need some German books, CDs or DVDs and they replied, that they sometimes have visitors from Germany, Austria or Switzerland and would be more than happy, if I could bring something over. The next time we flew to Orlando I had a bag full of books etc. We brought them to Give kids the world and they gave us a tour. I was close to tears. We have been to Orlando twice till than and each time we dropped a few items of. For our wedding anniversary 2 years ago, I bought a pavement stone and next time we have to visit it.
Henri Landwirth rest in peace and hopefully Give kids the world will carry on.
