I’d like to see more tests of your touring plans, particularly the off-the-shelf ones.

This is my thought also. I love the videos where they are testing various strategies for park days.

These have been some of my favorite updates in the past and I would love to see this content enhanced. Brian’s video for rope-dropping Pandora comes to mind. It was enjoyable, relatively brief, and very useful. Keep up the great work.

I’d like to see the new dining experiences and the early morning magic or dessert parties- maybe early morning magic at Hollywood studios or the Snow White dining experience at Artist Point. Love seeing the dining and how the extra ticket experiences play out.

I’ve loved a lot of the new content. My wish list is more about tone. I like touring plans because it is independent and offers honest, trustworthy accounts of developments in Disney Parks-the good, the bad, and the ugly! But a lot of the recent content is just celebrating Disney’s every decision; I love Disney and I don’t need everything to be negative! But I do wish TP seemed as willing to tell it as it is as they used to.

I’d like to see more tips for making and using the touring plans. I also liked the blog posts about the stats behind the CL updates.

    I would like to see:
-Fewer posts that are just copy/pasted from Disney press releases or the Parks Blog. It’s one thing to cite Disney’s own posts if you’re then going to add insight or commentary on the news, but when you’re just regurgitating exactly what Disney said, it dilutes the value of your other content. As an example, Rikki made 5 separate posts on 12/6 (Art of MPR, Napolini, Lunar New Year, Kingdom Hearts, & Tasting Sampler) that were all taken word-for-word from Disney, with no value added. At the very least, you could clump all those into a “Disney Press Release Weekly Round-up,” where the added value is that you’ve combined the week’s little tidbits into a single post.
-New and refreshed versions of the classic, Erin Foster-style “everything you need to know about X” posts. How about a listing of every playground around WDW?

      I agree with Andy.
I like reviews – dining, hotel, special events, hard ticket events, etc.

My comment relates to video quality. I’d really like to see all of Touring Plans’ videos using resolution of at least 1080p for filming. I know some contributors currently do use 1080p resolution and above (!), but with so many devices (computer monitors, televisions and smartphones) supporting 1080p resolution, this should be the standard going forward.

I’d like to be able to select which types of subjects I receive via email: regular blog, video blog, merchandise report, WDW info only, Disneyland info only, Disney Cruise info only, etc. My inbox gets bombarded with so many TP emails that that it would be nice to reduce the number of emails to those only relevant to me, and have that option to select only certain email topics somewhere (maybe from my account dashboard?). Again, I don’t want to eliminate ALL TP emails…only want to receive certain topics. Keep up the good work TP team!

I know it doesn’t get a ton of comments but I love the Friday round-up.

I love seeing the number-crunching. The monthly crowd calendar updates are interesting, but I also like when a feature looks in-depth at wait times for a specific attraction.

My favorites are the Saturday Six, Outlet Report, and weekly news summary. Having info about restaurants, parties, etc. is great, but that is something I would rather just search for as a post on the website when I’m planning a specific trip. Between trip planning, I like to keep up, so I stay subscribed to the blog and just skip the more specific posts.
Keep up the good work! Thanks!

I picked “Other”. There isn’t a particular area I would like to see more of on the blog. I wanted to express that I really appreciate the addition of the DVC update. Reading some of the other comments, I agree that I like the more in-depth posts (particularly related to attractions or hotels, not merchandise). On the whole though, I rather see the member-content enhanced than the blog. Unless I have a trip just around the corner, I refer to the blog when I am doing a search on the site (rather than via the blog email).

More information on annual passes, for example, annual pass news updates when discounts are announced. A lot of the discount information is spread out across Disney and it can be hard to find a complete list of every benefit, discount, etc.

  • December 14, 2018 at 8:59 am

My “other” would be park strategies and statistics!! I love the videos and articles where you test the wait times, touring plans, and rope drop strategies. I can’t get enough!!

I’m right there with the Saturday Six and the Outlet Reports. I enjoy Derek Burgen’s irreverent takes. So, more Derek?
