At this point, the main thing happening at Disneyland Resort is that people are doing their best to not burst with anticipation for the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at the end of the month. To help you prepare yourself, our team has been hard at work detailing the latest news as it rolls out:

Remember, you’ll need a reservation to enter the area between its opening at the end of the month and June 23; for details on how to obtain them (to the extent they are available), check here. Starting on June 24, Disneyland will utilize a virtual queue system. The current over/under for the number of days people camp out to be among the first few people in the new expansion is 8, so place your wagers and start keeping an eye open for tents on Harbor towards the end of the week.

Disneyland is continuing its Get Your Ears On Celebration, commemorating 90 years of Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Keep your eyes open for special menu selections, treats, character greetings, entertainment, and merchandise throughout the resort. Make sure you check out Rikki’s preview and Guy’s rundown of the best snacks for more details on what to expect.

Finally, it’s time for Grad Nites at Disney’s California Adventure. The events themselves are after hours and shouldn’t seriously impact crowds, but you might well see more grads-to-be in the hours leading up the event. This week, Grad Nites will be held on Saturday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Crowds

It’s a mostly light week, with Monday being the highest predicted crowds.  Tuesday and Wednesday should be good days to target if you’re able.

Full details, including park-by-park crowd levels, are available on our Crowd Calendar.

Weather

The weather is predicted to be fairly nice all week long — except for Sunday, which is supposed to be cooler and has a 50% chance of rain.

As always, it’s wise to double check the weather as the day of your visit approaches. Check out the most up-to-date forecast here.

Shows

Disneyland continues its practice of having a full entertainment schedule only on the weekend, though it will have two parades per day all week long. Detailed show schedules, including smaller diversions like The Dapper Dans, can be found here.

Refurbishments

At Disneyland Park, Casey Jr. Circus Train and the Storybook Land Canal Boats are both down for refurbishment from now through May 24, as is Alien Pizza Planet. The Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough will open shortly thereafter on May 28.

Over at California Adventure, the Silly Symphony Swings are still offline through May 24. Also, the Red Car Trolley is remains dark until next spring.

As always, be aware that refurbishments can pop up unexpectedly, so check out our refurbishments page to make sure your favorite ride is still running, and for details on exactly what will be down and for how long.

That should do it for this week’s news. Check back next week and every week to find out what’s coming down the pike. Got questions? Aware of anything else that prospective guests should know about? Let us know in the comments.
