Amorette’s Orange Cake Celebrates Fresh Florida

This summer, many of the restaurants at Disney Springs are celebrating the flavors of Florida with special food items featuring Florida-grown items or classic Florida flavors.

The offering from Amorette’s Patisserie at Disney Springs is this gorgeous blood orange confection. The “straw” is a nod to the old-fashioned peppermint sticks that were used to sip juice from fresh oranges. Unfortunately, this straw is fondant, not peppermint, but I applaud the effort.

I am obsessed with citrus and obsessed with food that looks like other food, so this is basically the cake of my dreams. It tastes like a grown-up push pop and I am perfectly OK with this.
