Is school back in session for you all yet? Here in the south, we’ve been back for a while, which is so weird, as a kid who originally didn’t go back to school until after Labor Day (But I also didn’t get out of school in the middle of May either…) Hope the new school year goes well for you and the family!
This week, we find out about a new cereal you are going to want to pick up if you are a Disney Villain fan, find out what new series may end up on Disney+, and see how Fox is really causing problems for Disney. Oh and a lot other other stuff too!
In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors
Take my money now. On September 1, LEGO will release a Disney Train and Station set. Who else is going to get this one?
Disney officially came out and stated that Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge cost $1 billion dollars to build and created 5,500 construction jobs. (Now I understand $200 lightsabers. 😉 )
A mom celebrated her kid’s first day in school in a very Disney way – literally.
Disney Wishes will end following the Disney Fantasy’s August 31, 2019 sailing.
At first I thought this was fake, but no….it is actually very real. Funko has partnered with Spirit Halloween to create two Disney villain-inspired cereals called FunkO’s. Each box, only available at Spirit Halloween and Spencer’s stores, will include a collectible figurine in the evil character’s likeness. The first two characters? Ursula and Oogie Boogie. But let me tell you….this boxes of cereal are NOT cheap.
Following Disney’s recent earnings report and the hit that they took with Fox, Variety shared an interesting article about how difficult it’s been meshing the two entities together. What do you think? Do you think that Fox content can and should be more edgy and out of the box or do you think it needs to be adjusted for the Disney family? Personally for me, I’m glad to see Fox taking risks that Disney isn’t, but the movies that they have released haven’t been things that I’ve necessarily wanted to see in theaters. (Now…when they end up on the streaming service or if I still had a MoviePass type deal….then I’m a little more free to see movies I wouldn’t normally see.)
Toy Story 4 has joined the billion dollar club in global box office this week.
Frozen has officially been surpassed by The Lion King, as Disney’s highest-grossing animated film of all time.
The rumors appear to be on again. Will we get an Obi-Wan story with Ewan McGregor? Would you watch this on Disney+?
We get our first look at the live action, Disney+ version of Lady and the Tramp. What do you think?
This is a great in-depth article courtesy of Forbes all about Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike, what The Wizarding World has done to impact Universal Orlando, and where things go from here.
