I’m ready for the spooky! This weekend I’m in Orlando and I’m ready for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, Halloween Horror Nights and more!

This week, learn what shake ups have taken place at the Walt Disney Company, find out who’s returning to Jurassic Park, and more.

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

This article is really interesting and takes a look at all the entertainment cuts that are happening in the park as well as the ramifications of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge under-performing.

This makes me incredibly sad. Cast and Team Members are people and they do not deserve to be treated this way.

Great parks news for WDW fans….Josh D’Amaro is going to replace George Kalogridis at President of the Walt Disney World Resort in November. What do you think of this news?

Maybe not so great Parks news….Catherine Powell who oversees the U.S. and Paris theme parks for The Walt Disney Company is leaving the company after the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge attraction launches fell flat. I find this to be very interesting…what about you?

Bob Iger recently wrote a book about his time as CEO and did an interesting interview with the New York Times. (Oh and yes…those rumors of almost buying Twitter were true.)

There will be a couple of changes to this year’s marathon weekend. What do you think of them?

Did you catch the Frozen 2 trailer this week? What did you think?

For Jurassic World 3, original Jurassic Park stars Laura Dern, Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum will star alongside Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard! What?! This is awesome.

That’s really sad about the little shows that make Disney special getting so many cuts. I’m particularly sad we’ll miss the Muppets History show come our Marathon Weekend trip. I love the spontaneity and lack of lines in park atmosphere. That’s one of those special touches that make this place better than Six Flags. I remember in one of your books (though I don’t think I saw mention in this year’s Unofficial Guide) you dove into the economical charts of at what point does Disney reach the point where prices get so high they actually begin to lose profits cutting out too large a portion of society from being able to afford to attend. Sounds like maybe we are learning where that is. It’ll be interesting to see how Disney responds in addition to layoffs…will they stop the insane inflation ever? Something I recently noticed planning an October trip to DLR was that a decade ago we stayed in Disney’s Grand Californian for about $350/night. This year’s prices were around $800/night before taxes and over $1000 with taxes for a weekend night. With their Halloween sale a week day was less than $700 before taxes but even that is 100% inflation. That’s got to cut out a huge chunk of potential customers but somehow that hotel is completely booked the weekend we are visiting.
