I love the smell of a new Disney Vacation Club Resort in the morning, don’t you? Right now Disney’s Riviera Resort is preparing for it’s opening day, December 16, 2019. Part of that preparation includes hosting Disney Vacation Club leadership and Cast Members for test stays so they can make sure the resort is ready for DVC Members and guests. Take a look inside a one bedroom villa, and at some of the views this towering resort affords its guests.

  • Liking for views of fireworks from MK and Epcot.
We are trying to switch from 1bdrm preferred to a 1 bdrm standard to accomplish this.
    Could you help with this.
Some say rooms on the 5-8 floors.. such as 8625 or 8631? Will be there in June 2022.

    Thank you for your help.

  • My family will be staying at the Riviera Resort. Can you tell me if the restaurants can be accessed from inside the resort or must you walk outside to access them?

    • The restaurants are all inside the building, and you don’t walk outside to access them. The pool bar (Bar Riva) is outdoors; I think that’s a very, very short walk outside.

  • Hi, I will be staying at the Riviera and I’m wondering which room view is best for viewing fireworks? I was given a choice of pool, lake, gondola or landscape? Thank you!

    • Hi Marybeth:

Rooms on the west side of the building have decent views of EPCOT and DHS.

If possible, you want to be in one of the rooms that faces west.

Here’s the view from room 8813. which has good views of both EPCOT and DHS: https://touringplans.com/hotel_maps/disneys-riviera-resort?room=8813.

In general, these rooms should have good EPCOT/DHS views from floors 6 and higher, where “x” is the floor number:

      – Rooms 8×21 and 8×19 (tower studios, which we don’t recommend)
      – Rooms 8×07 and 8×09 are 2-BR villas
      – Rooms 8×11 and 8×17 are 1-BR villas
      – Rooms 8×13 and 8×15 are studios

Let us know where you end up, please!

  • Hi Janet- for sure I wish I had more photos to share. There is indeed a full bathroom and washer / dryer. I hope you enjoyed the sneak peek!

  • Thank you for sharing! Where’s the actual bedroom, bathroom, and is there a washer/dryer? Please update once you have access to more information.
