Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run Added to FastPass+ Options

If you’ve been waiting for the ability to make FastPass+ reservations at Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, I bring good news! The popular attraction is now available to make these reservations via the My Disney Experience app for those planning visits beginning February 19.

This will effectively change the tiering system at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Now, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Slinky Dog Dash will be in Tier 1. Guests will only be able to choose from one of these Tier 1 options.

Tier 2 will now consist of:

  • Toy Story Mania
  • Alien Swirling Saucers
  • Rock n’ Roller Coaster
  • The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
  • Fantasmic!
  • Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage
  • Disney Junior Dance Party!
  • For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration
  • Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular
  • Muppet*Vision 3D
  • Star Tours – The Adventures Continue
  • Voyage of The Little Mermaid

Guests will be able to book two FastPass+ options from Tier 2, however, if both of the Tier 1 FastPass options have been completely filled up (meaning not available due to other Guests booking up the options first), you will be able to select three FastPass+ options from Tier 2.

As of right now, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will continue to offer the virtual queuing boarding pass system in order to ride the attraction. Rise may be included in the FastPass+ service sometime in the future.

I’m not sure I understand this. I currently have Fastpasses on March 19th for Toy Story Mania, MuppetVision, and Star Tours. According to your post, those are all now tier 2 rides. Is it possible to get a 4th Fastpass now (i.e., a Tier 1 Fastpass) or do I need to change one of my existing ones?

I just logged in and can’t see ANY Fastpasses now. Not sure what’s going on.

No, you won’t be able to get a 4th, but you can change to some of the other E-Tickets (i.e. Tower of Terror, Rock n Roller Coaster, etc.), as well as you can also change one of those three to either Smugglers Run or SDD and then get two from everything else in the park. There were some major issues earlier as I am sure everyone tried to change their fastpasses for DHS to include Smugglers Run or to avoid having to use a fastpass for MuppetVision.

@smdriver – Correct – all of those FastPasses that you have are all Tier 2. You can only get 3 FastPasses just like before. One for Tier 1 (Slinky Dog & Millennium Falcon) and two for Tier 2 (everything else).

@smdriver – As others have said, you can only have 3 advance fastpasses, but you can now change one of yours to the new tier 1 (Slinky Dog or MFSR). Even if you’re not interested in (or can’t get) a pass for either of those, you should still change the Muppetvision one to something else, because it’s a total waste.

Do we know if Mickey’s Runaway Railway will be on Tier 1 when it opens, or will it be set up like Rise of the Resistance?

There is no way that there will be boarding groups for MMRR. Disney isn’t going to make their guests choose between that and RotR.

With such a small tier 1 group, I think it’s obvious that MMRR with join tier 1 after a period in which only a standby queue is available (like the opening of MFSR). I suppose that it may join tier 1 immediately upon opening, but I suspect there will be a short time before it joins tier 1 to work the kinks out.

Seems very bizarre to see RnRR, ToT, and TSMM on tier 2!

Slinky consistently has a longer wait time than MFSR. MFSR queue is much more interesting than the Slinky queue.

Do you think wait times will be longer for MFSR after fastpasses go into effect? That was my concern- they are fairly close in wait time now but that’s without fastpasses on MFSR

Good question. Without data that’s tough to answer.

When will I be able to put Fast Pass with Smugglers run into my personalized touring plan?
