We’re here with a series of quick posts, “Disney in a Minute,” bite-sized nuggets of information that can better help you understand a Disney term or planning topic. Enjoy!

Disney licenses images of their intellectual property (Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars) to several handbag companies including Dooney & Bourke, Coach, and Vera Bradley, but by far the most prominent partnership in this area is between Disney and Loungefly. Loungefly bags can be found in dozens of styles in nearly every store in the Disney theme parks, on all the Disney ships, on shopDisney.com, and in brick and mortar Disney stores. If you’re in a Disney environment, you’re all but certain to encounter a Loungefly bag. A mix of Disney and non-Disney designs can also be found at Box Lunch, and on Loungefly’s own site.

Loungefly bags are highly themed. The are dozens of different designs in circulation at any given time and those designs change frequently. The most common style is a petite backpack, but you may also find larger backpacks, wristlets, clutches, and cross-body styles. The bags are typically made of faux leather (vinyl). Prices are typically in the $75-100 range. They’re highly collectable (Loungefly is part of the same company that makes Funko Pop figurines), but beyond a very few rare styles, not particularly valuable.
