REVIEW – Have Breakfast Any Time of Day with Mickey Waffles and Chicken at Roaring Fork

If you can’t get enough Mickey Waffles in your life then chart an expedition to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. There you can mobile order Chicken and Mickey Waffles any time of day.

Roaring Fork is the quick service location at Wilderness Lodge. It is awkwardly located in the corner of the resort’s main building, and has a cave-like feeling. It is now exclusively mobile ordering, with the dining room now converted to a mobile order pick up station with a small selection of tables and chairs. More seating has been added outside.

The Chicken and Mickey Waffles is a dream come true for anyone who loves Mickey Waffles or loves enjoying comforting breakfast food anytime of day. This sweet and savory combination can be ordered all day. The dish itself is pretty basic: two fluffy Mickey Waffles are served with two chicken tenders. These are your standard Disney quick service chicken tenders – nothing exciting, but still satisfying. What elevates this all-day breakfast treat is the Pecan Butter served with it.

I would recommend grabbing a knife when picking up your order. The delicious Pecan Butter truly is butter, and too dense for dunking and is better if spread onto the waffles, and perhaps the chicken too. I grabbed an extra cup of maple syrup from the condiments area, which I highly recommend doing.

This plate is by no means light eating. I probably wouldn’t order it again, even though I really enjoyed it. I tend to order salads or plant-based fare in the parks, but it is great to satisfy a craving for Mickey Waffles.

You do not need to be a guest of the hotel to dine here. When I snatched up this comfort food I simply drove to the resort, showed my ID and explained I had placed a mobile order for food. This is, of course, subject to change, especially during very busy periods. If you’re at Magic Kingdom consider taking boat transportation over for a nice break in the day.
