My Favorite Places at Walt Disney World: The Storybook Circus Rest Area
There are hundreds of wonderful places at Walt Disney World, but only a few of them are my favorite places. This is the next in a series of profiles of some of my most favorite Disney World spots.
Today, the Magic Kingdom’s Storybook Circus rest area.
The rest area is located at the far back of Fantasyland’s Storybook Circus zone, past the Casey Jr Splash attraction, tucked into its own tent beyond the Pete’s Silly Sideshow tent.
The tent’s remote location is, for me, this spot’s greatest selling point. I’ve been there many dozens of times and have never seen more than two other families using this space. No one is ever there. It’s quiet and restful. While the tent is outdoors, thus no air-conditioning, the large covered area is typically several degrees cooler than the surrounding pavement, which makes it feel like a respite no matter what the temperature.
There are several styles of chairs, from comfy loungers (I may have taken more than one tiny nap here), to a variety of stools that kids can climb on. Additionally, you’ll find picnic tables, which makes this the perfect out of the way spot to unpack your lunch if you’ve brought it into the park yourself.
The railroad station restrooms are conveniently just steps away.
And, BEST OF ALL, there are plentiful outlets and USB ports, so you can charge your devices while you relax.
If you’re at Magic Kingdom and want a substantial rest break without leaving the park, there is no better spot.
This is indeed a hidden gem. Close to action (splash zone, trains going by, toddler friendly rides), close to bathrooms, and close to snacks. A good time to let one parent rest a tired baby or feed a hungry one while the other enjoys one of the above items.
