Attending the Candlelight Processional is a tradition for many holiday visitors to Disney World. This year’s first Candlelight Processional is on November 29, and the last is on December 30. Dining Packages for the Candlelight Processional can be booked beginning on October 29. Read on for dates and details!

What Is the Candlelight Processional?

In case you’ve never been to Disney World during the winter holidays (which is a lot of people), the Candlelight Processional is a theatrical performance at EPCOT. It’s part of the Festival of the Holidays, which runs from November 29 through December 30, 2024. The show features a mass choir, an orchestra, and a celebrity narrator who performs a re-telling of the Christmas Story.

There is no cost to attend the Candlelight Processional. However, the 40-minute show is very popular and usually has long lines for standby seating. The easiest way to secure a seat is to book a Candlelight Processional Dining Package.

The Candlelight Processional is performed in the outdoor America Gardens Theater at the American Adventure Pavilion. There are three shows a day, at 5:00 pm, 6:45 pm, and 8:15 pm. Valid admission for EPCOT is needed to attend the Candelight Processional, and a park reservation if your ticket requires one.

Candlelight Processional Dining Packages

There are 15 restaurants at EPCOT offering Candlelight Processional Dining Packages. All but one of them are Table Service locations that accept reservations. All packages, whether reserved in advance or Same-Day packages, include a guaranteed seat to a Candlelight Processional showing held on the same day. The time of the reserved showing will be assigned at the restaurant when the meal is complete.

Prices do not include admission to EPCOT, and a separate theme park reservation is needed if your ticket requires it. Compared to the cost of the meal alone, you’ll find that the extra cost to book the dining package is about $20 per adult and $10 per child.

If you are on the Disney Dining Plan, you can use your credits to pay for the Candlelight Processional Dining Package. Your confirmation email will confirm how many credits are needed for your booking. In 2024, it appears that you’ll need the same number of credits as you would for a regular meal at the same restaurant.

  • Assume I have a dining package. When do they start seating for each show? 30 minutes before the show? If I have tickets for the 6:45 PM show and I don’t care about getting the best seats but do want to get seated before they open it up to standby what is the latest I can get in line to get in before standby people start being seated?

    Reply
    • Typically they will open the standby line 15-20 minutes before the show. But I would arrive at least 30 minutes in advance to be sure; a queue for the Dining Package seats will form before they open the line, which is not at a set time as far as I know. For a confident answer you should check the day of the show; the times have changed this year and there may be other operational changes as well.

    • Hi Lisa, when the packages become available you can search for and reserve like any other dining reservation at Disney World.
