Our in-parks team is in Disney theme parks every week recording wait times, trying food, soaking in the atmosphere, and looking for any changes that might impact your vacation. Here’s seven changes that stood out to us this week.
Drums are Back at Pandora
Another minor sign that things are moving towards normalcy, the drums at Pandora are now available for guests to tap out a Pandoran beat. I know this is a fun experience for kids, and really adds to the dynamic, interactive nature of the Pandoran landscape.
Eight Spoon Cafe Has Reopened
Also over at Animal Kingdom, Eight Spoon Cafe has reopened. A popular spot for macaroni and cheese, it also has a sandwich served on a jelly donut. Don’t worry, we’ll have a review on this soon.
Casey’s Corner Has Reopened
Speaking of food you can’t believe is real, Casey’s Corner at Magic Kingdom has also reopened. This fan favorite has so many popular items, and so we’re happy to have it back again.
Light Installation Continues on Spaceship Earth
Looking forward to the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World, new lighting effects continue to be installed on Spaceship Earth. I think this will be simply amazing to see, and can’t wait for its big reveal.
Fireworks Return to Magic Kingdom
By far, the biggest news of the week was the return of fireworks at Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. First up, Happily Ever After lit the skies at Cinderella Castle.
Fireworks Return to EPCOT
Although the show has been modified — there are no longer the kites towed by jet skis as part of the show, EPCOT Forever is back. This show will be replaced later this year by Harmonious, but for now, any fireworks are better than no fireworks!
It’s Been Raining — A Lot!
We’re keeping an eye on the tropics as Hurricane Elsa starts making her way towards Florida. But this week in general has been incredibly wet. It seems that every time we turn around, more rain is falling. After such a dry May, we could use the rain, but not all at once and with a hurricane coming! We’ll certainly be keeping an eye on things into next week.
