8 Changes We Saw at Walt Disney World This Week, September 12, 2021

Our in-parks team is in Disney theme parks every week recording wait times, trying food, soaking in the atmosphere, and looking for any changes that might impact your vacation. Here’s eight changes that stood out to us this week.

Monorail Station at Polynesian Reopened

It’s been eagerly anticipated by people staying at Disney’s Polynesian for some time now, but the monorail station there has now reopened!

More Lightning Lane Signs

Lightning Lane signs are popping up all over Walt Disney World. It’s become a bit of a scavenger hunt this week to see what you can find. I really like how this one at Rise of the Resistance blends in with the surroundings, however it also feels a bit hard to find. What do you think?

Creations Shop Sign Going Up

Speaking of signs, the new Creations Shop sign has appeared, and we’re so excited for the upcoming opening this week!

New Design for Passholder Signs

Honest, not everything this week is about signs — just a lot of things. We spotted the new Passholder Entrance sign with the new AP style. It’s certainly eye-catching, but. . . what do you all think of that design of Mickey?

Family of the Day Parking Spot at Magic Kingdom

The first spot at the TTC is reserved for the “Family of the Day”. I think that’s such a neat little thing that doesn’t cost anything for Disney to provide, but certainly gives a bit of pixie dust to someone.

TRON Canopy Still in Progress

Yes, the construction continues on TRON. My husband has photos that he took in Shanghai when their TRON coaster was under construction before the park opened, and I’m tempted to compare to see how far along the two are in comparison. It feels like it is getting closer every day.

Walls Down at the Confectionary

Construction walls are down at the Confectionary. No sweet scent wafting down Main Street yet, though!

So Many Statues!!

The statues for the 50th have started to appear day by day all around Walt Disney World. Follow our Twitter and Instagram pages for even more statues as they appear.

That’s it for this week. Which detail are you most excited about? Let us know in the comments.

The camouflage worked too well. I’m afraid I don’t see the sign for LL in the picture.

It’s just above the long blue stripe on the flat overhang to the right of a light and to the left of the light brown “box” on the overhang. But yes, it’s really hard to see.
