Baked Potato Bliss – Disneyland Troubadour Tavern Review
Troubadour Tavern is a small snack counter tucked away in a far off corner Disneyland, located next door to the Fantasyland Theatre (that’s theater with an “re” because it’s fancy). Even though it’s off the beaten path, Troubadour Tavern is still popular with Disneyland’s frequent visitors thanks to its ever changing lineup up baked potatoes topped with various goodies. In this post will take a look at the current offerings and share our thoughts.
Here’s the W.E.D. Chili Cheese baked potato for $11.99. I fully admit I spend way too much time in Disneyland thanks to this job. With that said I understand the following statement will get me odd looks from anyone who doesn’t live that life style. Here it goes… Disneyland made me fall in love with baked potatoes again. Troubadour Tavern always finds new things to shove into and on top of potatoes and I’m a total sucker for it every single time. The W.E.D. baked potato is topped with beef and bean chili, cheese, sour cream, diced onions, and a slice of cornbread. It’s fantastic.
In case you didn’t know, W.E.D. is the original name for Walt Disney Imagineering and also the initials of Walt Disney.
The Chicken Pot Pie baked potato ($11.99) is stopped with “pot pie filling” which includes chicken, carrots, peas, and gloriously creamy gravy. Those may look like potato chips on top but they’re actually flakes of pie crust. I’m a big fan of this potato. Both potatoes on the menu are hearty and filling so you’ll leave satisfied no matter which one you get at Troubadour Tavern.
Fireside Mac & Cheese Bites are globs of fried gouda mac and cheese tossed in four-chile rub. They’re good and have a nice kick to them without being too spicy. The downside is the $11.49 price tag. That’s a lot but at least they’re easily shareable with a couple of people.
I’m not a coffee drinker but I’ve heard nothing but good things from friends enjoy the Tiramisu Cold Brew ($7.29) and love the rich chocolate taste. It includes dark chocolate cold brew with tiramisu topper and ladyfinger cookie.
Overall Troubadour Tavern has a limited menu but it packs a punch with a couple of decently priced entrees and a good yet expensive side dish. I especially recommend Troubadour Tavern if you’re a frequent Disneyland visitor and are looking for something different than the usual burgers and flatbreads found at other quick service restaurants in the park.
Which potato do you enjoy at Troubadour Tavern? What would your dream baked potato topping be? Let me know in the comments.
