Building Disney’s California Adventure – New Unofficial Guide Podcast Episode with Jim Hill
Episode 22 of the Unofficial Guide’s Disney Dish podcast with Jim Hill is available via iTunes and direct MP3 download! Here’s the RSS feed to subscribe to future episodes.
Jim and I were in California a couple of weeks ago, recording an all-new set of shows on Disneyland and DCA. In the series’ first episode, we walk around Disneyland Resort’s Downtown Disney as Jim explains how DCA and DTD got built. It’s a tale as old as time, involving one of the great press conference errors of all time, crafty legal maneuvers, and highway elves.
Please leave us feedback on iTunes and tell us what other episodes you’d like us to record. Thanks for listening!
This was a great episode.
I can’t tell you how much I love these podcasts.
Thanks for keeping them going. The “History of Water Parks” episode was also really good.
This is great. Please keep up the series.
I think Jim was going to say something about the troubles with tenants in Downtown Disney. I hope you can get back to that point.
Listened to it during my commutes today. Entertaining as always!
That’s it? That’s it? Do you know how many ‘ummmmm’s I had to edit out of those ten episodes? My brain can’t take much more. 🙂
Seriously, we’ll do more eps from the west coast depending on how the listener feedback goes. Jim wants to do a “Walt Tours Los Angeles” show, and do something over at Knotts. Let’s get through these ten and see how the response is.
Of these ten, I particularly like the one coming up titled “Disneyland Gets Built,” which describes how the idea of a theme park evolved from the mid 1930s through Disneyland’s opening day. Lots of great stories from Jim, many of which I’ve never heard before.
You left out the line “I don’t see you making a podcast.”
Yes! I want more westcoast episodes!
Nine more are on. Two more on DCA and seven(!) on Disneyland.
That’s it?
