Disney’s California Adventure from 2001 to 2005: The Unofficial Guide Disney Dish Podcast with Jim Hill Episode 23
Episode 23 of the Unofficial Guide’s Disney Dish podcast with Jim Hill is available via iTunes and direct MP3 download! Here’s the RSS feed to subscribe to future episodes.
This show continues with the history of Disney’s California Adventure as it existed from 2001 to 2005. Jim jumps in the Wayback Machine to walk through DCA as it existed back then, and goes through extinct attraction after extinct attraction, telling the story of how Disney tried to fix the park after its lackluster opening.
As with the other shows, we recorded live in DCA. One thing that surprised me in DCA was how loud the live performances are – you can really hear the volume from those shows as we walk through the park. But hopefully it adds a little ambiance to the talk.
Please leave us feedback on iTunes and tell us what other episodes you’d like us to record. Thanks for listening!
I made a drinking game to go along with the podcasts. Every time Jim begins a sentence with, “the interesting thing is…” you take a sip of beer. Take a shot every time Jim says, “more to the point…” And chug a beer every time Jim goes so far off on a tangent that he can’t remember the topic at hand.
I really enjoy these podcasts and have been listening to them during my drive to work. Jim has some great stories and insight, which are fun to listen to even if he does go off on tangents fairly often.
Another great show, A little disappointed you skipped the mission tortilla factory. Rest of the show was your best one yet (only because I knew what you were talking about and I’ve never been to disneyworld)
