Everything We Ate at the First Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party of 2025
The first snoapfall of the season is in the books and it’s officially Christmas in the Magic Kingdom. We attended the first Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party of the year and have the stack of cookies as evidence.
Before we get into the sips and bites of the party food, we need to mention what a huge improvement we noted for the cookie stops! There are 6 cookie locations at this year’s event, and the snacks provided at each are included in your party ticket. In prior years, Disney has offered one allergy-friendly cookie option for guests with food allergies or sensitivities. It always felt like an afterthought and we’re happy to report that they are now providing a different allergy-friendly option at each stop! We’ve got pictures of each down below.
Just like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary, mobile order for party-exclusive food does not begin until 7 pm, which is the official start of this separately ticketed event. You can, however, order in person starting at 6 pm, and that’s just what we did.
Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café

- Snow Cheese Chicken Strips – $12.99
Dusted with a Sweet-and-Savory White Cheddar Powder served with a side of Kimchi Aioli - Cranberry Cider Punch – $5.79
Cranberry Juice, Apple Cider, and Sprite with Sugared Cranberries and a Rosemary Sprig
At first glance, the chicken looks like it’s all dredged and dressed and ready to hit the oil, but no! That’s cheese powder! While there was no Kimchi Aioli on our tray, these were pretty decent on their own. The cheese isn’t like the dust you find at the bottom of the cheesy poof bag you allegedly demolished while watching Call the Midwife. It’s far less greasy, and there is no crunch from the powder. The punch classes up the tray a little and reminds us that we need to stock fresh cranberries and rosemary all winter. This was our favorite drink of the night.
Cosmic Ray Bonus – The Disney Jr. Jingle Jam dance party happening here made this food stop such a fun party. This location is also home to one of the six cookie stops! Dancing with Fancy Nancy + a place for mom and dad to sit + cookies = win.
The Friar’s Nook

- Jalapeño Popper Tots – $10.49
Topped with Jalapeño Cream Cheese Sauce, Bacon, Cheddar, and a Jalapeño Popper - Pig in a Blanket – $12.79
Parmesan Puff Pastry-wrapped All-Beef Hot Dog, Crispy Onions, and Honey Mustard Barbecue Sauce served with Tots - Spinach Artichoke Hand Pie – $8.99
Flaky Hand Pie filled with Cheesy Spinach and Artichoke Dip and drizzled with Red Pepper Sauce - Ugly Sweater Shake – $7.99
Vanilla Shake topped with Whipped Cream, Festive Sprinkles, Peppermint-White Chocolate Sauce, and a Chocolate Piece
The Jalapeño Popper Tots are our top pick here, but there wasn’t anything we didn’t like. You can ask to hold the jalapeños sprinkled on top if you don’t like the heat, and it’s still a filling and fun dish. The hand pie was a neat way to eat a bit of savory dip, too.
Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe

- “Christmas-style” Chicken Tamale – $12.99
With Mild Red Chile Sauce and Pumpkin Seed Salsa Verde, Cilantro Rice, Pinto Beans, and Queso Fresco - Mexican Hot Chocolate Mini Churros – $7.49
Tossed with Hot Cocoa by Joffrey’s™ Powder, Cinnamon, and Warm Spices served with Sprinkles and Marshmallow Fluff Dip - Aroz Con Leche Wreath – $5.79
Rice Pudding Mousse, Citrus Chutney, Coconut Whipped Cream, and a Chocolate Bow - Frozen Hot Cocoa – $6.79
Frozen Hot Cocoa by Joffrey’s™ with Toasted Marshmallow Syrup topped with Chocolate Sauce, Marshmallows, and Festive Sprinkles
If these seem like your favorite flavors, you’ll love Pecos Bill’s like we did. The chicken tamale is our favorite dish of the entire party-exclusive menu. It was just as good as last year and just as hefty a portion. The wreath isn’t going to be for everyone, but we encourage you to give it a try.
Casey’s Corner

- Holiday Pot Roast Foot-long Hot Dog – $16.49
All-Beef Foot-long Hot Dog topped with Pot Roast, Beer-Cheese Sauce, Crispy Onions, and Horseradish Mustard, served with a choice of French Fries or a Cuties Mandarin - Holiday Pot Roast Mini Corn Dogs – $14.79
Topped with Pot Roast, Beer-Cheese Sauce, Crispy Onions, and Horseradish Mustard served with a choice of French Fries or a Cuties Mandarin - Holiday Pot Roast Hot Dog – $15.49
All-Beef Hot Dog topped with Pot Roast, Beer-Cheese Sauce, Crispy Onions, and Horseradish Mustard, served with a choice of French Fries or a Cuties Mandarin - Holiday Pot Roast Loaded French Fries – $8.29
Topped with Pot Roast, Beer-Cheese Sauce, Crispy Onions, and Horseradish Mustard
This was more of an experiment than a meal. We wanted to know if the same pot roast mixture would be better on one item than another, and our conclusion is that you should get the hot dog from The Friar’s Nook and the Holiday Pot Roast Melt, $13.49, at Cosmic Ray’s instead. The sauce was giving middle school cafeteria lunch vibes, and it made everything too soggy. Before you judge, we always get our Portillo’s Italian Beef Sandwich “extra dipped”, but this was not the same. The mini corn dogs collapsed under the mixture, and it was all the same mush.
Sleepy Hollow

- Orange Chicken Strips – $10.99
Drizzled with Orange-Soy Glaze, Glass Noodles, Green Onions, and Crispy Garlic
That’s the exact same description of this very dish from the 2024 Very Merry foodie guide. The picture on the right is the 2024 version, which was also $10.99. The three orange strips on the left are the serving we had this year. This was a huge step down, and we don’t recommend you try them. The strips this year are soggy and boring. It might not have been marked as “new”, but it isn’t the same dish.

- Peppermint Bark Funnel Cake – $9.79
Topped with Vanilla Ice Cream, Peppermint and White Chocolate Sauces, M&M’S® Milk Chocolate Holiday Blend, Whipped Cream, Crushed Peppermint, and Festive Sprinkles
Giant, saucy, and sweet. You know what you’re getting when you order this thing. Make sure you bring friends to help you.
Let’s Talk Cookies!
There are six cookie stops at Mickey’s Very Merry this year, so we’re going to start with our favorite.

The Fantasyland Railroad stop had a warm snowman pretzel! This savory surprise was so nice after all of the sweet things on offer around the park. They even remembered the mustard pouches. Anyone not interested in the pretzel could opt for the lemon burst mini cookies pictured above. The drink at this stop was a sweet punch not unlike the kind you’d find at a baby or wedding shower.

Gaston’s Tavern’s cookie stop had caramel pretzel chocolate chip cookies and eggnog to drink. The allergy-friendly treat was a chocolate chip cookie from Red Plate Foods.

The Lunching Pad in Tomorrowland was handing out the cilantro of cookies, the red velvet cake cookie. The allergy-friendly option was a bag of Home Free chocolate mint mini cookies, and the drink option here was apple cider or a cup of water.

The Cosmic Ray’s cookie stop was one of our favorites. The standard fare was a buttercream-frosted chocolate chip cookie with M&M’s and a cup of hot (warm) chocolate. The allergy treat was a bag of vanilla mini cookies from Home Free.

Tortuga Tavern in Adventureland is the spot to be for chocolate cookie fans. A Dove Hot Cocoa Cookie was the basic handout and a double chocolate cookie from Red Plate Foods was the allergy option. Hot chocolate was the festive beverage at this spot.

Sunshine Tree Terrace in Adventureland had the most popular cookie of the evening according to our informal survey of cookie eaters near the star fruit tree on the old smoking path. The standard cookie was a buttercream-frosted gingerbread cookie, and the allergy option was a ginger cookie from Red Plate Foods. Apple cider and water were the two drink options here.
