Last week, I let you all know about Frozen Summer Fun LIVE returning to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Well, now it’s been released that as part of the extremely popular event returning, the “For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration” show will be moving!
The fun show will be relocated to the newly named Hyperion Theater (formerly known as the Superstar Television Theater and the previous location of the American Idol Experience) just in time for the special summer event. “For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration” features the Royal Historians of Arendelle retelling the story of Frozen in a comedic way, mixed with sing-along portions from the audience, as well as appearances by Anna, Kristoff, and Elsa. The move to the new theater will also allow for new in-theater effects!
There’s no official word on if or when there will be any downtime during the switch from the Premiere Theater, found on the Streets of America, to the Hyperion Theater or what exact date the switchover will take place, (whether it will be prior to the start of the Frozen Summer Fun LIVE event or on the kickoff date) but I’ll certainly share any additional information when I know it!
There was also some additional information that was released about the Frozen Summer Fun LIVE event that you may find useful. First, the Frozen Royal Welcome mini-parade will actually take place twice daily. Not only will there be two processionals, but also, during Anna and Elsa’s “goodwill tour of neighboring kingdoms,” there will be two show stops, where guests will be invited to join in and sing “Let it Go.” These two show stops are slated to happen once on Hollywood Blvd and once by Echo Lake and the Hyperion Theater, so if you have a Frozen fanatic in the family, this is where you’ll want to be!
Disney has mentioned that some events will be taking place at the Event Stage…but many are wondering how this will all work with the removal of the Sorcerer’s Hat. Looks like there will indeed be a temporary stage constructed for both Star Wars Weekends and the Frozen Summer Fun LIVE event. (I would suspect it will be the same stage that’s previously been used and I would very much suspect the stage will be located in the roughly the same place it’s always been-in the center of Hollywood Blvd, in front of the Chinese Theater.)
Finally, there will be no ice skating, nor will there be a snow playground this year. So, that’s kind of a bummer.
The Frozen Summer Fun event will take place from June 17 through September 7. Are you excited the Frozen Summer Fun LIVE event will be returning?
