Frozen Meet and Greet to Continue at Epcot

Anna and Elsa from FrozenWell, last week, I told you I’d keep you updated on any Anna and Elsa news. I am one to keep my word, and today we have official confirmation from the Disney Parks Blog that the two sisters will not be going anywhere “for the foreseeable future.” (Yay!)

Guests may continue to meet the two at the Norway Pavilion in Epcot in the Princesse Plass area. As a reminder, the meet and greet schedule recently changed. Guests may now meet Anna and Elsa daily from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.  As I previously suggested, if you are looking to meet Anna and Elsa, make sure you enter Epcot at park opening (“rope drop”) and head straight back to the Norway Pavilion. (Wait times here can get quite lengthy really fast!)

For those who are looking to take part in more Frozen fun, make sure to check out the Norsk Kultur gallery, which can be found in the Stave Church (located in the front of the Pavilion). This gallery showcases artifacts that influenced the making of the movie.

In addition, at the Magic Kingdom guests can still enjoy the “Let It Go” portion of the Celebrate the Magic Castle Projection Show. Finally, announced today, when the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade begins in March, guests will be able to catch Anna and Elsa on the Princess Garden Float, which will be the lead float in the new parade.

  • Any updated advice to see Anna & Elsa (Frozen) in Norway? I plan to bring my seven year old daughter there.

    • It has recently been announced that Anna and Elsa will be moving the Magic Kingdom starting on April 20. I don’t know when your trip is planned for, but if you are going to Walt Disney World after April 20, you will need to head to Princess Fairytale Hall in Fantasyland to see the two.       If you plan on going before April 20, the lines are still extremely long to see Anna and Elsa in Norway. So, just keep that in mind that you will be waiting a few hours. If you really want to meet them, have one adult wait in line while another goes around the park with your daughter.

  • We were there on Wed, Feb 26, 2014 during one of the days that that Anna and Elsa started greeting at 9am. It was level 3 day. We arrived at the park around 8am and were the 3rd family in line at our turnstile. We jogged / speed-walked the entire way and still had an almost 2 hour wait.

  • We are staying at the Beach Club this weekend and would like to see Anna and Elsa first thing Sunday morning. If we get in line at the IG entrance at around 8:00, then run to Norway, will we be able to see them at 9/10am? The Disney App says they will be there at 9 on Sunday. Thanks!

  • At what time would you recommend lining up at the World Showcase entrance from Future World? Are the lines already substantial prior to rope drop?

  • Was just there (2/22), arrived at world showcase at 10:10 thinking there’d be a rope drop at 11 or so – apparently they are opening Norway at 9 with the park, and there’s a mad dash to line up for Frozen princesses. Wait was 5 hours at 10:30, and princesses don’t even start till 11. You get a placeholder ticket but one person must be in line at all times. So unless you have a team to give you bathroom breaks, forget about it. No way a 4 year old and mom could do it alone. Bummer.

  • I see that the Disney site still lists them as appearing at set times throughout the day, starting at 11 am. So if we head there at rope drop it’s at least a 2 hour wait?

    • I also noticed this… Would love clarification on if the meet & greet time starts at 9am or 11am. 🙂

      • Paula, Anna and Elsa tested the 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. hours last week but that test ended on the 15th. They are now back to 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

    • Chris, that’s correct. I actually recommend trying later in the evening now that their hours have returned to 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. It’s cooler and sometimes the wait times go down to less than 4 hours. Cast Members will allow one person from your family to wait in line if others want to leave and do something else.

      • We were in Epcot one day last week around 6:30pm and they had already stopped letting new people join the line. It gets so long that they close it way before the park closes. I’d be very careful about waiting until evening. I overheard one of the cast members refer to it as the “Line of Broken Dreams” because she had had to turn away so many crying little girls.

  • Too funny…I’m at Epcot on 2/24 too!

    Can’t wait. I’m staying at Kidani so I think we’ll take a cab over so that we are not late. Is it better to get dropped off at the front of Epcot or the International Gate (via Yacht Club/Beach Club)? Also how do they handle the crowds once open at both the main entrance and IG? Is it similar to running with the bulls or are we lead there by CM’s?

    8 days until vacation…get me out of this snow!!!

    • Hey Brendan. Good question. When the main entrance opens, it’s a mad dash. I wouldn’t actually recommend going through the International Gateway before 11 a.m. because you’ll be prevented from getting to Norway by the ropes in World Showcase which remains closed until 11 a.m. and Cast Members are not allowed to let you through unless you have an Akershus reservation.

  • Will they be in the Main Street Electrical Parade in April?

    • Ashley, no. They will be appearing in the Festival of Fantasy parade (the 3:00 parade) which debuts in the Magic Kingdom on March 15.

  • Kicking myself for not meeting them in November! We did see them through the window while waiting for our table at Akershus. Oh, well, sounds like we’ll get another chance!

  • Yes, there are lines at the International Gateway Entrance. Disney generally starts letting guests into Epcot 10-15 minutes before official opening time; no matter which entrance you use, I’d personally plan to be there at least 30 minutes prior to that (so, 45 minutes before opening). But obviously the earlier you arrive, the better your chances of being among the first to enter the park.

    Also note that some people will have dined at Akershus for breakfast and will intentionally finish in time to get in line for Anna and Elsa. They will be ahead of you in line, no matter which park entrance you use and how early you arrive.

    • If the park is a level 2 for the day – will there still be a 2hour wait? Do people start lining up at 9am for the 11am rope drop? Thanks!!!

  • Hi, we’ll be at Epcot on Feb 24, staying at Epcot and entering via the International Gateway. Park is a level 2. What time would you suggest we arrive to meet the sisters as early as possible? Are there pre rope drop crowds at IG like there are at the main entrance? Thanks so much!

  • Hi, if you enter through the International Gateway, what time would you suggest guests arrive at the gate to meet the sisters as early as possible. Park is a “2” day. Are the IG gate lines as long as the front entrance? Thanks!

    • Go right to Norway at park opening to get a place in line. That means 9- they are opening Norway via Mexico at park opening. Then wait till 11 to meet princesses. I was there at 10:10 expecting an 11 am rope drop and found a 5 hour line. No fast passes, one person must stay in line. Maybe line gets shorter in afternoon but I have heard at least 3 hours all day. This was a 4/10 crowd rating day. 2/21
