In August Disney announced updates to pricing and tiers for Magic Key passes (Disneyland’s Annual Pass), but only those waiting to renew their existing passes were allowed to purchase. Today, Disney has announced that at 9 a.m. Pacific Time on … today … they will be offering new passes for sale in all tiers except for the Enchant Key. A virtual queue will be used to handle the initial demand, and they are also being sold at ticket booths.

If you’d like to know our opinion on how long these passes will be on sale before they become unavailable again? Haven’t got a clue. If you’re dedicated to becoming a Magic Key holder, the safe bet is to get in there and grab one soon.

Current tiers and prices:

Inspire Key – $1,599

  • Reservation-based admission to one or both theme parks most days of the year, subject to availability of park reservations allocated to Magic Key passes, applicable pass blockout dates, and the Magic Key Terms and Conditions
  • Hold up to 6 theme park reservations at a time
  • 20% off the purchase of Disney Genie+ service (subject to limited availability) on days when you use your pass for park admission.
  • Unlimited Disney PhotoPass digital photo downloads
  • Up to 20% off select merchandise
  • Up to 15% off select dining
  • Standard theme park parking included (excluding blockout dates, at the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure, Pixar Pals Parking Structure and Toy Story Parking Area)

Believe Key – $1,099

  • Reservation-based admission to one or both theme parks most days of the year, subject to availability of park reservations allocated to Magic Key passes, applicable pass blockout dates, and the Magic Key Terms and Conditions
  • Hold up to 6 theme park reservations at a time
  • 20% off the purchase of Disney Genie+ service (subject to limited availability) on days when you use your pass for park admission.
  • Unlimited Disney PhotoPass digital photo downloads
  • Up to 10% off select merchandise
  • Up to 10% off select dining
  • 50% off standard theme park parking (excluding blockout dates, at the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure, Pixar Pals Parking Structure and Toy Story Parking Area)

Enchant Key – $699

  • Currently renewal only, no new passes being sold
  • Reservation-based admission to one or both theme parks select days of the year, subject to availability of park reservations allocated to Magic Key passes, applicable pass blockout dates, and the Magic Key Terms and Conditions
  • Hold up to 4 theme park reservations at a time
  • 20% off the purchase of Disney Genie+ service (subject to limited availability) on days when you use your pass for park admission.
  • Up to 10% off select merchandise
  • Up to 10% off select dining
  • 25% off standard theme park parking at the Toy Story Parking Area, excluding blockout dates

Imagine Key – $449

  • Only available for Southern California Residents living in zip codes 90000 to 93599
  • Reservation-based admission to one or both theme parks select days of the year, subject to availability of park reservations allocated to Magic Key passes, applicable pass blockout dates, and the Magic Key Terms and Conditions
  • Hold up to 2 theme park reservations at a time20% off the purchase of Disney Genie+ service (subject to limited availability) on days when you use your pass for park admission.
  • Up to 10% off select merchandise

    These new sales are going to be snatched up fast. I dare say that sales may be cut off by the end of the week once word gets out.

    Good luck to those AP holders. I hope you get to use them frequently.

      Agreed on the speed of sales – and even as I recommended here that people not sit on this, the FOMO is potentially going to create a higher level of demand. I mean, I agree that at over $1K, plenty of people will be reluctant to buy unless they’re sure. But there’s no room for people who think they’ll use it a lot next summer to wait and see what their plans actually are in May. That’s a problem; a lot can change between now and then.

      Of course, we could both be wrong and they could remain on sale routinely. But … if I wanted one of these, I’d be nervous about waiting.
