ICYMIHappy Birthday Disneyland!  It’s a glorious day! What is your favorite memory from visiting Disneyland? I personally have quite a few, but I think my favorite is when I finally got on my first Disneyland attraction, Peter Pan’s Flight! I was so excited to finally be there.

This week, we have a non-spoiler review of Ant-Man, looks at Shanghai Disneyland and a celebration of the park that started it all.

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

Speaking of Disneyland’s 60th, The Wall Street Journal takes a fond look back at the park we all know and love that started it all.

Also, here are 60 things you may not know about Disneyland.

Wow. This one certainly surprised me and I’m sure a few others too. According to Trip Advisor, Islands of Adventure is the best amusement park out there. Magic Kingdom took 3rd. Thoughts?

Holy smokes! Ok, I’m sure you’ve seen and heard about what Shanghai Disneyland will entail, but still…I have to say, it seems awesome. Which attraction do you think is the best and which one would you like to see come stateside?

However, Shanghai will not be without its challenges. This article describes some of them that Disney will have to face if it wants to be successful and some of the the things the company has seemingly learned in the last 60 years of opening parks.

Prince Harry announced this week that the Invictus Games would be headed to Orlando! Matter of fact, they will be headed to Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports. The games honor wounded servicemen and servicewomen.

Curious as to who will be named a Disney Legend this year at D23? The list ranges from artists, to animators, to composers, to directors, and even a soap opera star.

Curious about Ant-Man which opens today in theaters? Make sure to check out this non-spoiler review.

I think the tripadvisor ranking says more about the demographics that use tripadvisor than anything else. Even the order of the 4 WDW parks (MK, DHS, AK, Epoct) seems like it skews towards a young adult audience.

You also need to consider that the Disney parks are not amusement parks.

I agree with the earlier replies. Not wide enough of a cross section to make an influential impact.

Will also agree on an earlier comment, the Disney Parks are not meant to exist as individual amusement parks…rather themed parks that exist in an entire resort ecosystem.

I think the fact that Disney Studios, a now half day park which is slowly shutting it’s attractions for a major refurbishment due to underperformance, is the second highest Disney park (number 4 overall) is quite telling.
