How is it possible that school is back in session already for so many? If you’re back in school currently or if you’re going to be headed back soon, I hope you have a great school year this year!

This week on In Case You Missed It, learn what new patent Disney has filed that could make for some interesting technology, see why you need to set your DVRs for November 4, and more.

In Case You Missed It – Disney and Universal Orlando News and Rumors

The Walt Disney Company had their earnings call this week and they missed projections, however theme park attendance did grow by 1%. What do you think about this development?

It’s the rumor that won’t die. Apparently we may be getting a Brazil Pavilion for Epcot again. Personally, just give me a Brazilian steakhouse restaurant and I’ll be good.  What do you hope would come to a Brazilian Pavilion?

This could be interesting. Disney has filed a patent for a “moving floor” technology. What would you like to see this used for?

For the temporary time being, you can get a good night phone call from Mickey and the gang!

Speaking of Mickey! Mark your calendars for Sunday, November 4. There’s going to be a television special on ABC to honor the Big Cheese as he celebrates his 90th birthday!

A new trailer has debuted for the upcoming film, The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. Thoughts?

What?! Black Panther has become the third film ever to reach the $700 million mark in the domestic box office.

If you are a Universal Orlando Annual Passholder, you’ll be able to partake in special perks this month. Hooray!

Moving floor? I thought Star Wars:Secrets of the Empire at The Void was the closest thing I’d ever experience to The Oasis from “Ready Player One”, but I may find myself wrong in a few years.

The moving floor thing would be great for just about any kind of VR experience. I have thought about this exact problem before, but of course I didn’t come up with a solution because I’m not an engineer.

I’m sure they’ll end up using it for Star Wars in some capacity. The Void experience at Disney Springs is surely more of a research exercise than a permanent attraction unto itself.

If they want to go for something with a harder edge, they could do an Alien and/or Predator VR experience with this tech, after the acquisition of Fox is complete. At some point they’re going to need to offer something truly scary to compete with Universal’s HHN, right?

As for the Brazil pavilion, yes, a Brazilian steakhouse/barbecue restaurant is spot-on. How about a juice bar as well?

Brazil could be the new home of the Three Caballeros too, if they go through the Coco-ization of Rio del Tiempo/Gran Fiesta Tour. Jose Carioca is from Rio, after all. I don’t know in what capacity they’d use the Caballeros, though.

Actually… after the Fox deal, they could team up the Caballeros with the birds from Rio, couldn’t they? If we suddenly see an announcement of Rio 3, we’ll know what’s up.

Some kind of attraction themed to the rainforest would be nice. Be it another boat ride (featuring the aforementioned birds), or a roller coaster (dream big).

Oh! And there should be a regular dance-off between a couple of samba schools–either as street atmosphere, or as dinner entertainment.
