It’s Time to Celebrate Festival of the Lion King!

Are you ready to officially be able to experience a Celebration of Festival of the the the Lion King? It was announced that it was returning a few months ago and it’s so exciting to know that it’s coming back. While the show has currently been in a testing phase over the past week or so, the official re-opening date of this popular Disney’s Animal Kingdom attraction will take place on May 15. (That’s tomorrow!)

Of course due to distancing measures, the show has been changed just a bit. While the same incredible performance is present, the staging and choreography have been updated with safety protocols in mind for performers and Guests. In addition, parts of the show have been removed, such as the acrobatics (meaning, no tumble monkeys, etc.)

Our team actually went to a preview of the show and you can take a look at what to expect here.

Because the parks are still physical distancing as part of health and safety measures, the opportunity to view “A Celebration of Festival of the Lion King” will be very limited. Check the My Disney Experience app for the latest showtimes.

Disney also hinted that more exciting entertainment additions will be coming in the next few months! We’ll share those additions with you here on the blog when we learn about them!
