New Character Meet and Greets Begin at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

If you’re a fan of character meet and greets, you’ll want to head to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to experience some of the newest meeting opportunities.

Today, Guests can meet Olaf from Frozen at the Celebrity Spotlight located in the Echo Lake area. Guests will be able to meet Olaf, who is ready to give warm hugs, as he’s chilling on the beach.

In addition, beginning on Sunday, May 8, over on Commissary Lane, Guests will be able to meet Mickey and Minnie as the celebrate Hollywood dreams as they walk the red carpet and step into a scene with Minnie Mouse. Here she will appear as a Tinsel Town starlet in a setting straight out of a musical.

Then, you’ll be able to meet Mickey Mouse dressed as the Sorcerer Apprentice in an iconic scene from Fantasia.

Looks like Guests have the opportunity to get those autographs signed and perfect their selfies when visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios this summer!

  • Thanks for this info! Do we know yet if Anna and Elsa will be leaving Magic Kingdom for Epcot? Planning a trip in September with my daughter, meeting them is definitely a high priority. Do you also know if they will be at the Princess Storybook Dining Dinner at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall? Already have a reservation but it doesn’t give specifics on which princesses. Thanks!

  • Are these meet and greets going to be steps I can add to my touring plan? (How do you guys decide what to include? For example, we can add Meet Ariel or Meet Tinkerbell to our Magic Kingdom touring plan, but not Meet Merida or Gaston?)

    The last time the blog mentioned the Celebrity Spotlight, there was talk that the characters meeting here might rotate or change. Is there any more detail on that possibility? (My daughter is really hoping to see Olaf, if he’s still there in October).

    • As of right now, we only project wait times for meet and greets that have a posted wait time. Estimating the wait otherwise has proven difficult, but we’re still working on it.

      • Charles, as of right now, I think Olaf will be staying for a long while. I do believe that Disney will use that space in the future for additional characters, but don’t see that happening for some time. (Meaning, you should be ok for October, however, I can’t guarantee it because you never know what Disney will do.) I’ll make sure to update the blog if information does come out about a change of characters for this location.
