New Dining and Pool Areas Coming to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
When the Island Tower opens at Disney’s Polynesian Resort in December, it’s going to bring some new dining and recreation along with it! The brand-new Wailulu Bar & Grill will be a walk-up Quick Service pool bar at the new area of the Poly, and it will be found nearby to the new Cove Pool and Moana’s Voyage splash pad at the Tower. These new amenities will be available to all guests staying at the Polynesian.
Wailulu Bar & Grill
This casual dining area at the new Island Tower will feature views of the Seven Seas Lagoon, including a bar space with views of Cinderella Castle. Choose indoor or outdoor seating as you enjoy an all-day lunch and dinner menu built around Polynesian-inspired ingredients and flavors. At breakfast, specialty coffee and on-the-go morning pastries will be available.
Per Disney, the dining room will feature artwork created exclusively for the space, including floating sculptures of tropical fish made from recycled materials and fishing nets. The “swimming” fish will lead to a grand textile of a colorful coral reef featured in the bar area. In the dining room, a vibrant centerpiece will be an abstract representation of a Polynesian Stick Chart, an ancient navigation tool.
Cove Pool & Moana’s Voyage Splash Pad
A new water area will be joining the feature Lava Pool and quiet Oasis Pool at the Polynesian. Guests of the resort can expect to find the zero-entry Cove Pool and Moana’s Voyage splash pad at the new Island Tower area. Look for a life-size sculpture of Moana and her canoe that littles can play on and around as they enjoy the water.
Terrace Gardens at the Island Tower
In addition to the dining and water areas that are open to all guests, those staying in the Island Tower itself can look forward to exclusive access to four terrace gardens.
These common spaces in the resort will feature lush tropical foliage, distinctive theming, and vibrant artwork, as well as views of the Disney World Resort. Individual garden terraces may offer views of the Oak Trail or Magnolia Golf Courses, or some terraces will offer vistas over the Seven Seas Lagoon, including Magic Kingdom fireworks viewing in the evening.

Is it just me or are all the spaces pictured in the concept art seem a tad small for the size of the tower they are supposed to support? There are just 4 chairs in the window for the Terrace Garden? Also, how long will that Moana stay on her raft? (I feel like kids will destroy that in days if allowed to climb on it!)
On the spaces I can only say … concept art. But as to Moana, I’ll be shocked if it isn’t expected that kids will be allowed to climb on it. Disney has shocked me before, but assuming it’s not hands-off it wouldn’t be the first time they’ve built some kind of a play structure on a splash pad and I’d bet on their knowing how to get it done to last.
